Position: Home, Kladno, Czech Republic. This is how I spend my time at a time of koronavirus crisis. I fly by Flight Simulátor. This is a flight from Honolulu to Kahului on the island of Maui, Hawaii Islands, USA. Island Lanai is in front of the window.
L'atracció estrella del Tibidabo és i sempre serà l'avió. Inaugurat el 1928, és una de les més antigues del parc, i realment funciona amb la seva propia helice. És a dir, que el que el fa girar és la helice propulsant endavant i en cercles l'aeronau. Apart dels somnis dels nens que hi pugen, esclar.

Per cert, que tothom diu que és una copia del 1er avió a fer la ruta Barcelona-Madrid, i aquest fou un Rohrbach Roland VIII; de fet és un trimotor, però apart d'això és molt igual al del Tibidabo. Suposo que en varen suprimir els motors de les ales per millorar la visibilitat.

In the Tibidabo amusement park (the 2nd oldest in Europe and one of the oldest in the World) there's a gorgeous "vintage" airplane simulator. It dates from 1928, and it's a copy of the real first passenger plane that made the Barcelona-Madrid line. I've found that this real one was a Rohrbach Roland VIII, but this amusement copy has only one motor. In fact the motor in the airplane it's the real propeler of the plane.
It's a real symbol of the Tibidabo, and it really flies with dreams.

The seat rails actually need to be moved about 2-3 inches to the right. I centered the seat rails on the carpeted area, but the yoke and main flight instruments are centered on the entire simulator width which is about 6 inches wider than the carpeted area ... so the seat center is slightly left of the yoke center.

Il s'agit de la réplique du Rohrbach Roland, premier aéroplane à transporter des passagers de Barcelone à Madrid, dont le premier trajet avait eu lieu le 14 décembre 1927 sur la ligne Iberia. Il a été construit en 1928 dans les ateliers Estrada de Sarià à Barcelone par les ingénieurs Fath, sous la direction de Marià Rubió. Inauguré le 23 septembre 1928 par le maire de Barcelone de l'époque, Darius Romeu i Freixa, cet avion est devenu le premier simulateur de vol de l'histoire. Suspendu par une grue à 500 mètres d'altitude, il est capable de réaliser un tour complet en 15 secondes.

Both grandchildren got a chance to fly a simulator. Grandson landed it and did great, granddaughter crashed but have fun.
There was a monitor setup outside so it was possible to see how well they were doing flying the jet.
I can only assume that this simulator ride shows you what it is like riding a yak over the mountains. An unforgetable experiance, I'm sure.
