The sleeve cuff is the very last step in constructing this pattern. This sleeve is basted on, but I removed it, deciding to sew a 3/8" seam to get a deeper cuff
My dress will include these pockets and the view B shoulder buttons, but I don't care for the split front w/ grommets.

This is the back where the top portion (above the S/L line) is on the crossgrain and the lower portion is on the straight grain and lenghtened. I am using a coordinate for the bias sleeve band and facings to break up the busy pattern.
Lengthened with pieced lower section. This is probably one of the busiest fabrics I've ever used for a garment. I bought the cotton coordinates from a now closed fabric store in Asheville to make aprons. I had some left and wanted to have some fun with the lines. I will be wearing this with some light yellow linen cropped pants that match the lightest color in the prints.
I like this one. It‘s so cosmopolitan. This is what I‘m living, not black not white, it‘s my winter scarf, but it also could be somewhere in Africa. Where do you live? - Dunya. Where do you come from? - Allah. Fertig. I should print it and pin it on the wall next to the mirror. And ask myself: is it this what I see? #goal #guul #cosmopolitan #simplifyyourlife #dhikr #dunya #snapchat👻 #jihadannafs #peace
Also added 2 larger pockets with flaps. Other than that everything, including the hem, is the same as the top. Silk/wool/lycra seersucker fabric. Dress has been washed since pressing flattened the puckers. I also have a tunic length top and Discovers Something Novel pant from this fabric.
This is the Simplify Your Life pattern with the Ebb top front button placket, lengthened to a 3 button. On this one I used the Ebb lower portion with the vents.
Details for this dress in photos on the Simplify Your Life Flickr album.
Note that the sleeve cuffs here are about an inch wider than the original SYL cuffs. I decided to cut them back to the original width, then finished the dress. All changes explained in the Flickr photos.
Same pattern changes as the red/white seersucker dress except I used the pretty SYL curved, stitched hem on this one.
This is the same fabric I used for the Discover Something Novel pants and a Stars in Heaven cowl neck tunic.
Lengthened for total length of ~30"
Used/cut on different grains plus seam allowance at L/S line
Deeper cuff using 3/8" seam allowance
My idea to make this tunic was inspired by a Scandinavian designer who mixes and matches fabrics and motifs. Although this is probably one of the busiest fabrics/garments I've made (fabric coordinates originally bought for a Japanese style apron) I kept the thread and buttons neutral, coordinating with the creamy yellow in both fabrics.
L-R Blue A New Dimension jacket over white Simplify Your Life top, Discover Something Novel vest, 2 Take Me Anywhere tops
Note the button placket back of the Danger, Curves Ahead top (2nd from left) from a recycled mans Façonnable shirt. Adding in a Shapes skirt in a stripe that has the reds and purples that coordinate with the DCA sleeveless tops and the linen knit layer.
Patterns are the Ebb & Flow top (I used the Ebb button front over the Simpify Your Life top with cut-on sleeve and sleeve cuffs. Lengthened/added a horizontal seam (front & back) and used the lower portion of the Ebb top, lengthened.
The vents for this dress, for which I used the lower portion of the pattern for the Ebb top w/ vents, are longer than the Ebb top vents.
After I sewed/tried it on, I decided I didn't like the wider cuff so I cut it back to the original width.
