Beihai Park (simplified Chinese: 北海公园; traditional Chinese: 北海公園; pinyin: Běihǎi Gōngyuán) is an imperial garden to the northwest of the Forbidden City in Beijing. First built in the 10th century, it is amongst the largest of Chinese gardens, and contains numerous historically important structures, palaces and temples. Since 1925, the place has been open to the public as a park. It is also connected at the south to the Shichahai.
The Park has an area of more than 69 hectares, with a lake that covers more than half of the entire Park. At the center of the Park is an island called Qiónghuá (琼华) Island with a highest point of 32 m. In the north of the park there is a large pool called the Taiye Pool connecting the two other pools, which are called the Middle Sea and the South Sea respectively. Therefore the Taiye Pool is also called the Beihai.
Beihai literally means "Northern Sea". There are also corresponding "Central" and "Southern Seas" (Zhongnanhai). The complex of buildings around Zhongnanhai houses China's paramount leaders.
The Beihai Park, as with many of Chinese imperial gardens, was built to imitate renowned scenic spots and architecture from various regions of China; the taihu lake, the elaborate pavilions and canals in Hangzhou and Yangzhou, the delicate garden structures in Suzhou and others all served as inspirations for the design of the numerous sites in this imperial garden. The structures and scenes in the Beihai Park are described as masterpieces of gardening technique that reflects the style and the superb architectural skill and richness of traditional Chinese garden art.[1]

Fiddling with Topaz Adjust and Simplify. I like them both, but more of a learning curve on Adjust. This is my favorite effect with Simplify - a lot more control that with standard "brush" effects in PS.

Ever heard of The Kingham Plough? It's kinda a big thing. In fact, I came all the way from Croydon specifically to see it. I am apparently following in the footsteps of The Hairy Bikers and Tom Kerridge's Proper Pub Food (neither of which, presumably, travelled from Croydon). Located in the picturesque Oxfordshire village of Kingham, The Kingham Plough has been under the auspices of Chef Emily Watkins and her husband Miles since 2007. And they've been doing alright since then...
How about that food then? Head chef Emily's got an impressive portfolio of work that involves time at The Fat Duck, as a private chef in London and working at a restaurant in Florence, Italy. All of this has presumably come together in the Cotswold gastro-joy you are now reading about. First impression? Proper 'country pub', but not 'country old man pub'. Splendid. Like a pub it does 'pub stuff' like quizzes on alternate Sunday evenings and has local breweries on cask. But it's only a pub in the way that, say, a Monet is 'only' art - calling it a pub would be a simplification.
The Plough's A La Carte Menu is pretty small - 5 mains, 4 starters, 4(ish) desserts with a focus on English cuisine. It changes every month and, like many good restaurants, they source as much stuff locally as they can. Seasonality and rapid change are the themes. When I meet her, Emily is friendly enough and rather distracted. She's currently got her fourth child in the way (impressive) and has actual work to do here. So I try not to distract her too much with inane questions about living on a milk farm, or what it's like having Sipsmith's Master Distiller as a neighbour. All in all it's a fine stay full of fine company, fine food andâ¦tea. Lots of tea. Also if you like old world wines and youâre in this neck of the woods, The Kingham Plough is probably for you.

The west end of ManVic has changed in the last 20 years, However, the backdrop is good and there are 2 nice scissors crossovers! 6.4.11.
There was still quite a bit of rain left on these when it started to brighten up. Cropped and rotated.
The seminar will consist of both a political and technical discussion on how to simplify the cohesion policy in the context of the initiative of the High Level Group on Simplification of European Structural and Investment Funds.
The Chair of the High Level Group, Mr Siim Kallas, will provide feedback of its work, followed by the DG Regio. The European Investment Bank will focus on the potential of financial instruments with the cohesion policy.
