ZAANSTREEK - Amerikaanse Windmolen "de Hercules"
De Hercules bevindt zich in de Kalverpolder te Zaandam, ten noorden van de buurtschap Haaldersbroek.
Een Amerikaanse Windmotor.
Ze is als poldermolen geïnstalleerd in 1922. In 1993 is ze vervangen door een elektrisch gemaal. Omdat men voor verval en sloop van dit industriële monument vreesde, werd geld ingezameld voor de restauratie van de molen, die gerestaureerd werd van 1995 tot 1996. Ze ligt nu langs een wandelpad en vormt een van de bezienswaardigheden van de Kalverpolder.
Dit soort omstandigheden gisteren in Kinderdijk en geen toerist te zien.

The mountain lake Oeschinen in winter. I know the lake from summer with its turquoise blue water. But what does it look like in winter? - Everything is covered in snow, the lake deep-frozen with a large layer of snow - and complete silence. It was cold, very cold, but beautiful!
Der Oeschinensee im Winter. Ich kenne den See vom Sommer mit seinem türkisblauen Wasser. Aber wie sieht es im Winter aus? - Alles ist eingeschneit, der See tiefgefroren mit einer grossen Schicht Schnee darüber - und vollkommene Stille. Kalt war es, sehr kalt, aber wunderschön!
