Because the ACTUAL wayfinding signage was woefully inadequate, someone (citizen signmaker? "vandal"? the city? Harbour Air? who knows) spray painted this psuedo-signage. The other direction is worse and feels like you're going into "employees only" territory (you go behind a semi-closed gate) in order to continue along the seawall. The SEAWALL. There should not be semi-closed gates and spray-painted signage to direct people through a section of the public seawall.
Note: Harbour Air, you suck. This was a temporary location, not a permanent one, and you are IN THE WAY of this city's waterfront path. I don't care that you like it here: your ability to ply your business here is a priveledge, not a right, and you are messing things up for everybody else for selfish reasons. (Consider: how many people use the seawall versus how many people take float planes?) Please move to the brand new, well-designed terminal that was build for you just a few hundred metres away. It's waiting for you.
Taken shortly after dawn, facing west. See the sunlight hitting that sign? This is an extreme manifestation of the hostility Massachusetts signmakers feel towards outsiders.
