I took these photos at an SAAF Swartkops Airshow several years ago, but know nothing about the aircraft featured. A social media friend, Charlotte Oliver, did the amazing thing of identifying each - as indicated by the captions. She says her dad was the project manager on the Oryx, Pilatus and Augusta projects. He retired from the Air Force at 63, but still works in the industry for Emperor Aviation at the age of 69.

What an amazing effort - I owe her (and her dad) a great debt of gratitude.

Let Russian soldiers put these seeds in their pockets, so they can blossom and bloom from the earth once they are no more.

Musician and actor Steve Hofmeyr said he was sick and tired of government "spoon feeding" its people rubbish. "They say crime is down but it has been shown that it is becoming more violent and that crime in this country is five times higher than anywhere else in the world.

"Government should stop wasting taxpayers' money on name changes and start spending the money on making our streets safe, protecting our children, ensuring the elderly are safe and making sure that workers can go to work and return to their families in one piece and not in coffins," he said.
