It was but a trundle, and a difficult one. "You *will* take a walk every day, the same walk we did together in the park, unless it is raining. You *will* set an alarm and you *will* get up by 6:30 am and leave for your walk before 8:00 am latest."

The "rain spider" is a common name for the huntsman spider species of the genus Palystes, specifically found in Southern Africa. They are known for entering homes, especially before or during rain, because they follow insects that are seeking shelter indoors. Being arty. Or trying to be. Again.

The Umhlanga Lighthouse was completed on November 24, 1954 and has since become an area landmark. The circular concrete tower, painted white with a red band at the top, stands 21m above the beach and has a focal plane height of 25m. The fixed red light enables a ship waiting to anchor in the outer anchorage to monitor its position. If the red light can be seen, it suggests the ship's anchors have probably dragged and it is too close to shore.

The lighthouse is situated near the end of Lighthouse Road in Umhlanga.
