Precisely at 1:08 P.M. every day, the ghost of Henry L. Pittock stands at the corner of SW Washington Street. Nobody knows why and Henry isn't talking.

The catalogue of forms is endless: until every shape has found its city, new cities will continue to be born. When the forms exhaust their variety and come apart, the end of cities begins.

A little snow goes a long way.

*Today it hit 50 degrees which melted all the snow and the next few days will be around 60 and sunny which should dry any remaining moisture on the ground. Our big bad snowstorm has now concluded.

In 2010 I've build this lighthouse. It's a scale model of the lighthouse that guards the harbor of my hometown Urk, The Netherlands.

The models stands over 70 cm tall (27.6 inch) and it uses 4.237 bricks. The lightning consists of two old 9V light bulbs. The light rotates with 10rpm, giving it the same light signature as the original. I've spend over 130 hours building it, not counting the time browsing on BrickLInk.

Some info on the original lighthous: The current lighthouse is build in 1844. As early as 1617 a coal fire was burning on the hill of Urk. In 1837 a square tower was build. This was replaced in 1844 by the current lighthouse. In 1920 a electric light-bulb was installed. Since 1989 the lighthouse is fully automatic. Because of the use of radar, the importance of the lighthouse becomes smaller and smaller. That's why they took the fog signal out of use in 2001.

This a two page spread (25"x11") from my travel book FACES & PLACES: England. I did not kiss the platform in case you were wondering. Auto-focus is a wonderful thing.
