I don't want to spend tons of dough for an underwater housing for my D7000, then still worry that a little leak ruins the camera, so I bought a Nikon AW110 point-n-shoot. Good down to 59' deep, takes a drop of 6.6 feet, and works in colder temps than I'll ever want to be out in. All for less than a quarter of a decent (and maybe trustworthy) underwater enclosure.
Back in January, I did a lot of playing with it in the pool at our resort, as well as in the Gulf of Mexico. I was pretty pleased with the output. I can even mount filters to it's lens, which is pretty nifty. It's also become our go-to baby camera, a lot easier than digging out the 7000.
Little girl I spied on Crescent Beach--Siesta Key, Florida. I took quite a few shots of her and her sister . . . after obtaining permission from their parents. It's one of only two photos in my top 200 most viewed pics that does not contain nudity (actual or implied) or an adult swimsuit clad female. Yet for all the views, it clearly isn't liked much. :-( Only one comment and four faves.
