The inner reality...so full of mystery and passion. The marriage of imagination and spirituality. The visible and what is beyond site...consumes me and I become numb with joy. I know that there is a unity in this experience....there are no walls and I see you clearly...when will you see me?

Something “ever ancient ever new”51 dawns in awareness, not as an object of awareness, for it is too close to us for that, but as “a sunlit absence,”52 interior to awareness itself, “more intimate to me than my inmost self”

“Our job in life,” he said at a graduation ceremony at Thiel College in Greenville, Pennsylvania, early in his career, in 1969, “is to help people realize how rare and valuable each one of us really is—that each of us has something that no one else has—or ever will have—something inside which is unique to all time. It’s our job to encourage each other to discover that uniqueness, and to provide ways of developing its expression.”

I saw this White-breasted nuthatch along the trail at the Valley Water Mill Park. I was surprised to see a lot of bird activity in certainly locations while next to nothing farther along. The vegetation and access seemed the same to my eyes but not to the birds.
The last of three great horned owlets remained in its saguaro nest for one last day. As sunset approaches, it's thinking about joining its siblings in a nearby mesquite tree.
The surf was stunning this morning with strong easterly winds blowing back spray as the waves crested.

Another through the window shot, this is a Carolina chickadee on the bare Crepe myrtle bush. As the angle through the window was acute, the overall quality is lower. As Missouri is an area of overlap with the Black-capped, it it possible this is a hybrid of the two. The wings seem to be the largest difference between the two species. It sped between the bush and the River birch deciding if the bird bath below was safe. Whenever we see them they are always almost too fast for the photo opportunity.
Currie Street - stop D1. I'm not sure if he is looking at me or the next bus. Silver Efex Pro: Kodak ISO32 Panatomic X
I love the sideways light that occurs when the sun is just above the horizon. Mature bucks instinctively hang in the shade: I got a lot more unusuable photos today than I did good ones. Most of the time, two mature bucks hung back in the dark shadows.
Our beautiful world, pass it on.

It's the beginning of a new month. She was so happy to be outside this morning. It was quite cool, just the way she likes it.

This bird has the oddest face I've ever seen. I captured it flying over the fence sideways, maybe it was chasing a bug. I think this is a Clay-Colored Thrush, but not 100% sure.
A Red Breasted Nuthatch thinking about approaching one of the feeders next to the eagle blind at the Mongaup Reservoir near Forestburgh, NY.
Blue Tit trying its hardest not to miss much. E-M1 MKII/100-400mm.

This is a Yellow Legged Honeycreeper, which is often confused with a hummingbird because of its beak. It's a member of the Tanager family and it uses the long curved beak to pierce the backs of flowers to obtain nectar. I love this pose!
Hi-Edge speedway action.

IMG_1416: In the evenings I usually take the dogs out back and play with them. Bouncer especially likes to chase me, and Rocco usually just waits until I sit down so he can snuggle up in my lap.
