Black paint with an elaborate, artistic and high-quality vinyl graphic on motorcycle tank and side panels | Flickr Friday theme.
The striking design and complex pattern seen on the tank of this CF MOTO 800MT motorcycle is actually adhesive vinyl (also called decals, stickers or graphics kits), rather than paint applied directly. The MT800 is a versatile adventure bike with exceptional capabilities on both asphalt and off-road terrain. It has a lightweight and powerful frame, KYB multi-adjustable suspension and a potent 800cc engine producing 95 hp - almost a hundred horsepower!

When Switzerland started cleaning some riverbeds in order to extract poisonous heavy metals, the contract for cleaning the soil was awarded to a dutch company. Rheincargo has contracted to bring the soil in the recognizable Bauer reinforced containers. For this transport they used electric locomotives until the Köln (Cologne) area and from there on (and back) one of their class 66’s. On one of their trains in early may 2018 it was the DE676 hauling the train. However since one of its sidepanels had been damaged it was fitted with a replacement sidepanel. One that clearly was painted for the red HKD-liveried class 66’s. During the evening of the 7th of may this loco had just departed from Veendam and was heading for Onnen, Bad Bentheim and finally Köln.

Interesting ad, as the 87cc OHV CM90 model pictured was never actually sold in the USA..... The 87cc OHV engine had been available in the CT200 Trail 90 and the C200 road bike (tank between knees and manual clutch) , but by the time the road-going stepthru 90 got to market it was the replacement OHC 89cc CM91 (the ad copy says OHC too, though the pic is clearly the pushrod engine).
The bike in the pic certainly looks prepared to US spec.. No indicators (rubber grommets in the rear holes and empty clear lenses at the front, just like the CA100) US-spec tail lamp and bracket (again same as CA100) and the Scarlet red paint. Other things of note are the two-tone dualseat from the C65 (never seen that on any country's 90 - always plain black) the use of the full-length rear mudguard/fender (the US CM91 got the shortened one from the Trail 90), the '90' badges on the side panels and reflectors in the legshields (neither fitted on US CM91).. The 'Cub 90' tank badge also couldn't have made it to market as Piper Aircraft had the Cub name copyrighted for transport in the USA, so US CM91 just said 'Honda 90' on the tank badge.
The pic also seems to be a 1964-5 model - the sidepanel '90' badges and speedo cable clip on the front mudguard both changed to the CM91 style for the last CM90s in 1966.
So..... I think .. just conjecture.. maybe American Honda had ideas of launching the CM90 in 1965, didn't do so for whatever reason, then used the pic they'd taken for these ads a year later by which time the bike had changed... and incidentally the US stepthru bubble was already bursting.. American Honda was selling 1966 manufactured C100s and CM91s right up to 1970!
The Ducati SportClassics were a range of retro styled motorcycles first introduced by Ducati at the 2003 Tokyo Motor Show, and put on sale in 2005 for the 2006 model year. The Paul Smart version was made for the 2006 model year only, while the Sport1000 ran from 2006 through the 2009 model years, and the GT1000 ran from the 2007 through 2010 model years.
They were the product of Ducati's design chief Pierre Terblanche, who said the series started with the Evoluzione MH900e replica of Mike Hailwood's victorious 1978 Isle of Man TT bike. The different variations are based on similar frames, and powered by the Desmodue 992 cc (60.5 cu in) air-cooled L-twin Ducati 1000 Dual Spark engine, also called the DS9 engine.
Paul Smart rode the 750 Imola Desmo competition bike to victory in 1972, and the 1974 750 SuperSport was based on that, tank and sidepanels painted silver, fairing painted green and silver with a green frame. The Giugiaro case 900 and 750 SuperSports had the blue and silver paint. The inspiration for Paul Smart LE is based on these bikes. It has multi adjustable Öhlins suspension front and rear, the fairing, steering damper, and a green frame to go with the silver and blue paint on the tank, lower clip-ons, fairing, and side covers. The Paul Smart was limited to 2000 examples worldwide

Earlier models of Cadillac Fleetwood still had fins, even if they already were a lot smaller than those on the '59. The '65 Fleetwood didn't really have proper fins, but because the bootlid drops down while the sidepanels don't, there's still something that looks a bit like a fin left.

Here the location of the screws of the Sidepanel.
Basically the same as on the model 1 so I did not have to remove all (extremely brittle) leatherette to find them.

A photo of an Indian carving depicting the God Vishnu and his feminine side Lakshmi to bring us back from sport to matters spiritual. Out in the heart of County Wicklow is a wonderful collection of sculptures of Indian deities which is a great way to spend an afternoon and reading about them is fascinating. I wonder what the "Juggernaut" was and is it still about?

Well, that went well, still some small trimmings and the new "skin" will be ready :-)
This Impala was fantastic and has been restored to perfection. We were lucky to find a classic car show when we drove through Plains, GA.
Nice example of a custom Vespa. Drops and sidepanels are from SIP.
Lambretta front forks.
Candy White paint, and 210 Malossi.
A detailed look at a side rear panel of a 1960 Chevy Impala as seen at the 2017 Paola Heartland Car Show held in Paola Kansas on the historic town square.

Next a cheap Circle Cutter was used to cut through the Paper and Leatherette.
Hmm.. gives a nice roundel, maybe I can use that for something else :-)

Well, at last I found a Leatherette (China) which, at least at first glance, looks somehow like the original one.
To get the cutting job organized I made a 1:1 scan and print of the Sidepanel
"Clowance" is a smart five bedroom Victorian villa that may be found in the provincial Victorian city of Ballarat.
"Clowance" was built between 1892 and 1893 for mine manager Isaiah Pearce and his family to the design of local architect W.E. Gribble. "Clowance" is a single-storey, red brick building with cement render decoration on the windows, a patterned, slate hipped roof and dichromatic brick, Tudor style chimneys. The villa has projecting, rendered bay windows, the eastern one with a battlemented parapet, the northern one with a raised pediment. Verandahs with ogee curved roofs are on the east and north facades, and the last bay of the east verandah has an entry porch with an encaustic tile floor. "Clowance" is an innovative example of a transitional design between late Victorian and Federation styles with a notable combination of features and fine external and internal detailing. Notable elements include the patterned roof, bay windows and distinctive timber detailing on the verandahs and bargeboards. The verandahs have cast iron posts in pairs joined by a segmental arched timber valance instead of the conventional cast iron frieze. The half hipped gable and barge boards have a hint of an Islamic style in the curved motifs. The exotic theme is carried over into the stepped triangular arches over the main openings.
Isaiah Pearce (1849? - 1919) played an important role in the mining industry in Ballarat. Leaving his home in Cowan, Cornwall, he arrived in Australia in 1861, just as the mining boom in central Victoria began. Isaiah met his Adelaide born wife Anna Maria Carah (1852 - 1895) in the central Victorian Gold Rush town of Castlemaine. Isaiah was involved in a number of successful mining ventures, including the North Woah Hawp mine, one of the richest and longest surviving Ballarat mines. Anna Maria focussed her attention on women's suffrage and their family of eight children (two dying in infancy). Their eldest surviving son, Joseph William (born 1886) died during the Great War in 1917 in Broodseinde, Flanders, but not before serving in Gallipoli and elsewhere in France. Isaiah Pearce was a long standing member of the Ballarat East council and was mayor in the year "Clowance" was built. "Clowance" with its highly embellished interior demonstrates the status and lifestyle of a family whose wealth was generated by goldmining in Ballarat.
"Clowance" is named after "Clowance Estate" near Camborne in Isaiah's beloved Cornwall.
Today "Clowance", which is heritage listed, has new life, not as a private residence, but a luxury bed and breakfast which is very popular amongst visitors staying in Ballarat.
"They are made of supple aluminum so they have enough give to fit just about all of the 60's models such as GS, VNA, VBB, etc."
The rust and green on this Chevy Impala looked a lot like camouflage to me.
I liked the 'rocket' emblem ahead of the flags too. Taken at Old Car City in White, GA.
last night we worked on these two beauties, and they turned out amazing.
the bifold leather wallet is from very dark blue, soft horse leather, all in one piece. it is not sewn but attached by sliding the sidepanels in the slots, making it a simple and beautifully minimal design.
the coin purse is from thin, soft, bright red cow leather, with a red zipper and red stitching all around.
