So... Amsterdam is the city where everything is possible... It was pretty cold at that time I’ve been there and I was not surprised when saw the name Siberie on some coffeeshop. I had first doubts when I saw some person near there who doesn’t look like siberian. Next time I thought that I never been in Siberia and don’t know how the “locals” look like... but again, it’s Amsterdam where everything is possible...
Of course I’m kidding. If seriously it’s great artistic place (I mean this coffeeshop)...
Siberie now is the coolest coffee shop in Amsterdam and was founded on one of Amsterdam's most beautiful canals in 1984. For all that years Siberie has mounted regularly changing art exhibitions by both established and upcoming artists, Dutch and international, attracting and surprising the people with an ever-changing visual experience. Other projects that have taken place over the years include: poetry readings, acoustic concerts including jam sessions, workshops, astrology readings and regular dj performances. Other highlights are the yearly Summer Festival, "Landjuweel" in Ruigoord just outside Amsterdam, and the end of year party at Paradiso...
Actually I was amazed by very warm (not “siberian”) atmosphere over there. Come see for yourself!

Un petit close-up sur les retouches make-up de Sibería. Comme quoi quelques retouches vous changent un modèle !

At this time, they're taking a rest away the stages, but you can follow them in FB to know more about them: www.facebook.com/siberialabanda/

Sunset abstract from the window of a Trans-Siberian train, somewhere in this vast country. Shot on a Soviet Zenit 19 camera.
Very small country village in Siberia during the season change (September), when the surrounding taiga (wild forest) is changing colors. Location: Lake Baikal area, Russia.
Every other village in vast Siberia looks about the same:
plain, blackened with time, log cabins among birch trees by the river, lopsided squatted bathhouses, freshly laundered sheets hung on the clotheslines, old, battered motorcycles with massive seats leaning against backyard fences, dog sheds inhabited by the howling, bored mutts, motorboats and kayaks...
A little further away, like a grand sea rising above it all, stands the vast taiga, painted yellow by the autumn larches...
Here time seems to have stopped and nothing will ever change...
