I did a version of this image some time back but I watch a video on You Tube the other day on new ways to edit in Photoshop and started playing with this one. They have a replace sky setting now that works really good, well not so much on this one but on some others I tried it on. But some of the other new features worked really well.
Don't really remember where I shot this. We were traveling from one town to another and it was one of those, let me make the block and go back and take that shot.
Hopefully, all the freezing weather is over for us. My garden didn't fair to well. Even the plants that are suppose to be year around seem to be struggling.

There is a road that runs along the harbor at the bottom image. Just setting the stage.;) And, just past the road is a hill. So, I'm on top of the hill with my tripod set up to get the best shot I can and I see this pickup truck driving by. The truck stops and the guy gets out and starts climbing the hill. I'm thinking, I hope he doesn't need directions because I'm a tourist as well. He gets to the top of the hill and introduces him and tells me he's been in town for a week and hasn't hardly caught any fish...lol..Who does that..;) The guy never stopped talking. I took all my shots and started loading up my gear. As I'm driving away, he's still talking..:)
Some people thought that I was serious when I said somebody needs to fix this weather. I fully realize there aren't enough people wanting to change things and that weather changes are just going to get more extreme.
Anyway, I just got over Covid. I had all my shots so it was nothing like you see on TV. The first night was the worst. Well, that night and all day. Pretty much just stayed in bed. I was so happy when I finally tested negative. It did leave me with an annoying cough.
The bird is walking on the dock. There was a Hurricane about 200 miles away but it still had an effect on this marina.
We've had ice and sleet the last couple of days, which isn't something that happens often around here. Luckily, it's suppose to warm up a little on Saturday.

I haven't been in here much because I've been wallowing in self pity. I was just diagnosed with cancer and it's located in my neck. The doctor is pretty sure it's curable and he has a 5 year plan. In the mean time lots can happen. I'll probably lose about 30 lbs, could lose most of my teeth and could lose the ability to talk. I'll be starting radiation and chemo later this month. It still hasn't completely sunk in and I'm still having trouble talking about it. I'll still be looking at your work but I just may not be contributing as much
I had a little fun with this one. I'm just barely am getting this one up for Slider Sunday. I started working on it early but then I just kept getting interrupted.

I had such a great time in Galveston that I've already booked my hotel room for my November vacation. It would be really great if any of you want to come with me. Off season prices..;)
I keep trying to do different looks to force me to try different things. But, I feel like I'm starting to get fixated on these shrimp boats and sunrises.
I thought my medical deal was on Thursday but It's on Friday. Ugh, one more day to think about it.
Seems strange to be running the air conditioner in February.
I played around with this so much in Photoshot and made the file so large, I couldn't load it up in Topaz. So, I just went back to Photoshop and finished it up. I wasn't going to do a Slider this Sunday but then I decided, why not ..:)
I wonder if we could petition Flickr to bring back the people link? People that load 3 or more images a day really make the new system difficult

The processing on this one became a much bigger project then I anticipated so I just gave it a promise. The promise was, I'll do better next time ..:) I had fun doing it and that's all that really matters in the end

We're doing Labor Day weekend here in the states. Schools are out on Monday and a lot of people are off work. How do other counties celebrate Labor Day?

I'm still here..:) Start chemo next week and radiation the week after. The Veteran's Medical system moves really slow.
I put this together sometime back and thought I had already posted it. But, realized today that I had not posted it yet. This is from Corpus Christi, Texas. This sleepy little coastal town has really grown up. It's really like there are two towns in one. The waterfront and waterfront area and then the other part of the city. Naturally, I prefer the waterfront area which is going through a revitalization at the moment. Hope they don't screw it up ..;)
When I was there, in Corpus Christi, I bought some shrimp from him and than walked a little ways down the dock so my friend could throw it up in the air and attract the Sea Gulls ..;) That's where I got most of my Sea Gull shots.

I couldn't decide if the whole mast needed to be in the picture or not. It's more sky then I like. What do you think? Could I have cut that mast in half and not lose the effects or not?

More shrimp boats. I've never been shrimping but a friend of mine said it's a lot of work. I guess nothing as romantic as it seems..;) These two were tied up in Conn's Harbor near Aransas Pass.
The guy isn't walking on water ..:)this was taken during that extremely high, hightide. I was going to use this for Slider Sunday but It's really pretty calm. So, I guess it'll just be a colorful pic

I had to go back to the hospital because I was still having a hard time breathing. They found a liter of liquid under my right lung. I wonder how long I've been dragging that around. Anyway, I'm home now and feeling a little better. I start rehab next week. I'll probably be in here more once I getting back to my old self.
She looks a little worse for wear to me. These Shrimp boats must really take a beating. We were just drifting by in this little lagune and it looked like a pretty shot even with the wear.

Well, my yellow flower worked for about a week..;) During that week we had beautiful Spring weather. Now we're back to the ugly cold winter and it's almost March. Somebody needs to fix this

Someone asked me about the high pylons on some of the dock photos and thought we must have some really high tides. Not the reason. The tides in Texas range from one to 2 feet if that. So, I don't really know why the pylons are as high as they are. I do agree, they seem higher then they need to be. I'm headed to Galveston in April, maybe there will be someone around the dock that I can ask.

I stuck my daughter in the doorway of the bait house. She'll get a kick out of it when she see's it.
I have a mosquito in my bedroom but I can't find it. Every now and then it'll buzz in my ear. It's probably just waiting for me to go to bed. The little vampire will probably suck me dry tonight ..:)

I didn't get a chance to eat here, I just took the picture ..;) We were next to it while waiting for a boat to take us on a harbor tour. That didn't happen since it was off season, there weren't enough people. We needed 2 more. Since we were leaving in the morning I tried to get everyone to chip in and pay a little extra to make up for the short fall but the other people were going to be there for a few more days and decided they would just wait.

We're into the crazy weather again.64 at night and 93 during the day.
I didn't know you could wear out a wireless mouse and keyboard until now. First I though, I must have a bug or virus, I was doing virus scrans and they I rebooted my system to factory but things just kept getting worse. So, I did the simple thing, replaced my keyboard and mouse. And now, everything works great..;)
This is a redo. I saw this process on a tutorial and thought I would try it. I may have over done it..:) Plus, I just really got tired of messing with it. Sometimes I think it best to walk away from a project and than get back to it later. Which, is probably what I should have done here. Hope everyone has a great Sunday
I figured I would post one for today because I'm starting my vacation on Tuesday and I'm not sure when I'll post again. I plan on taking you guys along on the vacation. I've been looking over my schedule and it looks like I may have to extend my trip. I was planning on being back December 7th but I don't see how I'll make that date.

I was looking through my image and I noticed the air conditioning unit on top. I've never seen an A/C unit on a shrimp boat before and of all shrimp boats, this one has an A/C unit. Interesting. That's why I'm passing it on ..;)

Cos Way Bait & Tackle is just on the other side of the boat. Not sure about the relationship between the two. Maybe just allow him to park there as long as he sells all his catch to them.
...lol..Not sure about the story behind the name. The boat owner wasn't all that friendly. He just turned his back to me. The lights on the hull are my headlights again..;)

These guys were getting ready in Conn-Brown Harbor for the morning run. I wonder if fishing is better or worse during a full moon. And, maybe it makes no difference at all..;) I know it's time for me to make another trip to the coast. I'm just waiting for the winter rates to kick in so the hotel won't cost so much.
I was joking a little when I said lets do Christmas in July. I was a little surprised by the response. So, I'm thinking, since this is an International site, we should start a movement and get Christmas changed to July. No snow, kids are out of school and people are traveling anyway..;)
I canceled my coastal vacation this year because I wasn't sure how I would feel in November. If I have my strength back I'll still try to go. They haven't started the treatment yet. So much to do before hand and the wheels move slow.

What does everyone think about the changes to Lightroom
I've noticed that some people have posted notes saying," don't add me to a group." Instead of doing that, just go to account settings and under emails & notifications turn off group invitations.
I was reading something on Flickr that said they are going to concentrate on black and white photos for Explore. I really don't see the magic of black and white. If you have Lightroom you can just click on a tab and turn any picture into back and white or it can be set up in the camera. When I was growing up all we had was black and white. When color came out I jumped on it.
Anyway, happy Sunday .;)
One of the non fog days of my vacation. So strange how it's there one day and not the next.
The weather has been amazing here and I have almost finished cutting up the fallen tree limbs. Some of the other people who live in my Townhouse community are suppose to help gather up the cutup limbs and stack them for future firewood. We'll see how that goes.

The shrimp boat pulled in and the guys went inside the building leaving the hatch open..;) The birds didn't seem to mind me being there.
Is it just me, or have people just started taking more pictures of there eye balls..;) Kind a creeps me out , looking into someone's eye ball
Also, I've been looking at all your show shots and I decided I'm going to stay here in Central Texas..:) We don't see 4 seasons but Thursday, it's going to be 78 degrees Fahrenheit..;) and I'm OK with that
On Thursday, I have my
Colonoscopy Procedure, so I won't be having fun in the sun. The 3 days of prep are the worst part. No raw fruit, vegetables or nuts. That's what I eat everyday. I had to go to the store and find food I could eat for the next couple of days

I think some of you are pulling my leg. I'm pretty sure "Working Girl" is the international colloquial term for ladies of the evening. I didn't answer any of them, even though I'm always looking for a good time..;)
How cool is this. A restaurant that has fresh Crab or Shark. I didn't realize people ask for fresh Shark that much. Seems like they must or maybe it's just a specialty of the house.
Saw my old college room mate the other day. He was somewhat younger than I because I went into the military before college. I started talking to him and he looked at me and said, Jim is that you....So, I decided I'm never going out again
They are talking about going to tier 5 here, whatever that is. The only place I go is to the bathroom and the grocery store. Don't know how I can stop either one of those events.
Taking a break
Retirement is starting to work. I slept until 6am ..;) This is from Marker 37 Marina. I thought it was in Padre Island but It's in Corpus Christi on Padre Island Drive. That should clear up any confusing ...lol.. Like anyone cares ..:)

This is Dana. I worked with her on some volunteer projects. Haven't seen her in a long time so I stuck her in this picture so I can she her again..:)
Still working from home. Kinda lonely but I'm saving a lot of money on gas. Restaurants are really struggling. But, oddly enough, a new one opened up on the east side last weekend. Three of us went there for the grand opening and ordered burgers. They asked how we wanted the meat and we all said medium well. All 3 came out well done..;) We ate them anyway. They had live music. Lots of Rolling Stones songs and Beatles so we didn't really worry about the food. I still don't like paying 14 dollars for a burger. Just seem like a lot to me, but I guess that's the way it is everywhere.
