Who is your favorite? What do you think!?
I've been thinking about making this guy for a while, so as it turns out this guy is from a hand drwan videogame similar to how Cuphead was hand drawn, which had made me more interested in the game. I love how he turned, his head was sculpted very nicely, and his body and capes are perfect (well apart from the fact that I couldn't draw any details on there, but everything else about him looks pretty good).
I have decided to make one of my favorite Grumps, Arin is perhaps my favorite of all the Grumps, I like Dan too (though I don't have the pieces for him), but of course I love this guy because he's funny and he's the OG Grump founder, definitely goes with Jon (even though my Jontron is yellow skinned, but I'll get around to that). This was pretty simple, I think somebody else also used that Star-Lord Head to make him and it was absolutely perfect, I of course edited the original version of the head because it looks more accurate to his facial features.
This guy was made for MikMikEternity's 8-bit contest and I made a video showing him off but here is a another look.
Shovel Knight has a complete sculpted head with sculpted shoulder pads.
His accessory is of course a shovel with the top and bottom sculpted.

Believe it or not, I was actually making these before I knew about the art contest. So, here's an overview of the knights, from left to right, top to bottom.
Forest Knight: The Gallant Knight
Forest Knight is the one with manners, he even politely challenges you to a battle. He has lived in the forest, meditating and "becoming one with the woods," Forest Knight has ivy growing on parts of his body. His green armor doesn't get in the way of battling, though. Forest Knight is speedy, and is clever. You have to crack the hidden secret of dodging the Sawgrass Leaves he drops. (Which is, before he throws down Sawgrass Leaves from above, he slides along the ground. Leaving a dirt pile, which the leaves won't fall down onto) He may look a little strange with the brown suit he wears, but trust me, in battle, this forest-dweller doesn't mess around
Metalwork Knight: Iron Muscle
Perhaps the most muscular of all, Metalwork Knight is proud of his strength. It allows him to lift his might hammer, to slam down upon you, though he can also attack you with fire. Metalwork Knight also has spikes on top of his helmet, rendering your down thrust useless, except when he charges up a fire attack. This guy has lived his life in the forges or in the mines, so his laboring tasks have seriously boosted his strength, and ego. His haughty personally ge's the best of him, because he doesn't take the crimson shovel-wielder seriously, and besides defeating him, you need to show him who's boss!
Fat Knight: Wealthy and Full
Despite the amusing name, Fat Knight is a jolly man. He is the richest upon rich, and while others may starve, he's carving a turkey, all to himself! His weight is a helpful tool, by squashing you in battle, literally. Fat Knight may use his Guillotine Knife, (but there was one time when he tried to defeat his opponent with his trusty fork by mistake) which besides chopping, can launch the corpulent knight into the air, to crush down upon you seconds later. Fat Knight also is decked with a fancy helmet, because he needs to show his wealth every second of the day, outside or inside.
Spark Knight: Sweeps you off your feet
Spark Knight is by far the most diverse one. His bright armor has no affect on his weight, thanks to the mint-colored potions that he will break on the ground, sending both you and him to the ceiling. Or vice versa. Spark Knight is also very hateful, accusing you from keeping the Enchantress from ruling the land. Which is partially true. His magnet-themed shoes, and magnet on his neck, may seem ridiculous, but he takes them very seriously. Aside from those potions, Spark Knight also has powerful electric moves, that would scare any shovel-wielder!
Nuclear Knight: Toxic Footsteps
Nuclear Knight leaves a harmful footprint wherever he goes. This carbon-colored knight has several nukes and missiles built into his armor, which he will fire at will. He doesn't talk much, but his height and simply scary features make up for that. Nuclear Knight's hazardous features don't just stop there, he can shoot nuclear explosions from his cannon arm, and touching him can mutate you! The white grate on his stomach may seem like nothing, but that bland looking grate hides the nuclear core inside of him.
Saltwater Knight: Voice of the Roaring Waves
He likes to swim. That's it.
No, all jokes aside, Saltwater Knight is a very astute knight. He carefully has created a medieval flail, with ocean mine attached to it! His strange helmet doesn't mind him, because he is quite agile. Saltwater Knight actually has a knack for scientific experiments, such as Turbo-Torpedo's, torpedo's that split into more torpedo's, or the classic Crabhammer, a successful mutation of a crab to create a giant, supercrab! Saltwater Knight also has a mystical control over water, a deadly tactic he loves to use.
Cactus Knight: Master Disaster
Self-proclaimed fashion genius, Cactus Knight is an odd one. His main way of attacking is his Saguaro Bombs, little cactus bombs, that if you pass by them, they'll stick to you and explode in it's remaining time. Although his spiky cactus tunic may look ridiculous, it protects you from getting you near, as he'll take a little more damage than an average boss'll do, when you go by them. His golden armor on his chest boost's defense from horizontal attacks, so you might wanna spring for attacks on the helmets. Cactus Knight is slow, too. He doesn't like to admit it, though, and he's a big softie.
Cloud Knight: Calm, Cool, Cloud Knight
Despite battling you, this green and gray knight is a peacemaker. Cloud Knight is very serene, but when pushed over the edge, he's like a raging hurricane. His cyclone attacks can blow you over, and his Razor Gale move really packs a punch. Normally, he's an (evil) sky guardian, watching over weather, protecting birds, all that good stuff. Which is very unlike his demeanor, I might add. Cloud Knight also is most notably marked for the clouds around his body, swirling and spinning, even when he hops off his big cloud when it's time to battle.
This is a boss character called "Grave Knight." He digs all the graves for the local cemetery, even if the person being buried isn't dead....yet. He doesn't like vandals or anything of the sort, so to guard the graveyard he sleeps while standing up on a tombstone, which makes him blend in with the other stone statues there, and when a hoodlum invades they are taken surprise by...THE GRAVE KNIGHT!!!
Duo Knight are a pair of inseparable warriors. I was thinking they would not necessarily be enemies, they could be allies but with different motivations.. I envisioned them as a mid-boss, possibly recurring? Maybe playing on the duo/two aspect, you'd only encounter them every second play through?
The Lance-arm weapon they use would have 3 main attacks. The first is a common sword slash. They would also have a lunge/charge ability and they can shoot beams out of the lance (red and blue respectively).
His name is Scarab Knight, and he loves to dash towards his
opponents and grapple them with those scary looking beetle antlers of his.
He's a master of insect-inspired suplex throwing moves! I'm also thinking
he could get into a digging war with Shovel Knight using that
shovel-shaped top to his helmet, using it in much the same way some scarab
beetles use their head shapes to dig.
Chef Knight's probably being a tad over-confident in his skills by calling himself a "chef", but armed with his trusty Battle-Spork and an encyclopedic knowledge of tuber-based cuisine, he's more than capable of serving some shovel wielding punk (with a keenly-honed pun to top it off!)
It may not be the most glamorous job in the knighthood, but hey, after all, even an evil army marches on its stomach.
