My daughter was thrilled to discover this used bookstore that also has wonderful stationery and small gifts. When she was little we went to a bookstore or the library weekly. We love books! Sadly used bookstores have almost completely disappeared in Ontario. This little store is a gem! HWW!

A Chance Encounter on San Marco
Nestled beneath the soaring arches of Piazza San Marco, a tiny glass shop spills warm light onto cobblestones. Through the open door, a riot of Murano vases, bowls, and delicate figurines twirls in every hue—ruby reds, cobalt blues, emerald greens—each piece a whisper of Venetian mastery. A passerby pauses as the shopkeeper, with a gentle nod and aged hands, lifts a filigree goblet to the glow. In that shared moment—strangers bound by wonder—the centuries-old craft feels alive, vibrant, and utterly unforgettable.
A serene sunrise bathes Shem Creek in beautiful Mount Pleasant South Carolina in warm hues as boats gently rest on the water's surface. The sky transitions from shades of red, orange and pink to deep blue, reflecting on the water and highlighting the peaceful start of the day.
And a nod to St Valentine
This is a small tribute to our shops and services in my home village. Thanks for their love over the last two tough years. Thanks for their values. They are honesty, loyalty, integrity and compassion personified. Michelle Obama said, “I have learned that as long as I hold fast to my beliefs and values and follow my own moral compass then the only expectations I need to live up to are my own”. Bookham shops and services, I salute you! Happy Valentine's Day.

This is a sunrise in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. I photoshopped the crescent moon into the image. This is the Atlantic Ocean at sunrise.
South Carolina, a state steeped in history and tradition, is engulfed in dramatic beauty. From the rolling hills of the Piedmont to the thrilling expanse of its coastline, South Carolina hypnotizes visitors with its captivating charm. The land whispers faintly about significant battles fought on her soil and the turmoil of revolution that shapes it today. Yet amid the chaos is incredible resilience and determination; a testament to its thriving economy due to robust tourism, agriculture, and industries like manufacturing, healthcare, and finance. Its bustling cities of Charleston, Columbia, and Greenville offer a haven for commerce while reminders of tragic events such as Hurricane Hugo's wrath loom. South Carolina flaunts breathtaking sunsets over Lake Jocassee while historic Huguenot Church's belfry chimes out cultural history reminding one of the ways that this little piece of heaven offers something different for everyone but always manages to captivate your heart forever.
South Carolina became the 8th state on May 23, 1788.
