Often, for me, light is reason enough to click the shutter. Diagonal swooshes and patterns at play joined on the vertical plane draws my eye and makes me stop and consider. Sand dunes reach to the sky on the edge of our continent creating visual drama. Coarse textures of sand stand against a soft, moving sky, Each dune, kissed by the wind in its own individuality, form a pattern that builds strength.

Making Time to Play
Inside the Broad Museum, art plays with light and reflection to create its own shapes and delight, that catch my eye. Framed within a frame, the selfie is born. Wonderful, curved spaces repeat over and over forming patterns that morph across surfaces changing contour and size. Brilliant warm colors add to the sense of play. Diagonal cants add drama and fun - it's a bit of a party - a celebration of art and appreciation - something happening.

A crazy array of architectural wonder poses challenges for framing. Reflections play with reality while reality does it's own dance with shapes and angles that almost defy logic. Muted colors help sort things a bit. Horizontal plays with vertical and that plays with diagonals of every sort. Shapes repeat forming patterns that fold upon themselves throughout the image. It's an art institute - go figure.

An old fishing boat wears years of multiple repairs to its surface as it sit in disrepair at dock. But wait! A vibrant color palette draws my eye. Designs dance across the surface without rhyme or reason - except to be. The frame forms including wonderful shapes and textures. Weights and balances are in harmony. Art is found.

Caught in a window - a collection of elements that only reflection can provide in its altered reality. Lines and shapes and textures mix with a bit of mystery. It's an original recipe. A sight that won't come along again. In the blink (or wink) of an eye - it's gone.

Repetition builds strength and textures add substance. Perspective exaggerates a bit. Sharp focus keeps everything viable and it's a shot that becomes eye candy to explore.
