A small interlude from the Morocco series…
Shot on a dull day in Paris, Charles de Gaulle Airport, while waiting for a work meeting to start…
Not a great picture. But with no tripod balancing on the rail of the porch -hanging 5 meters over the ground, on one foot, I think it became cind of fun. I forgot to set the camera, so I had to use the auto landscape with no flash, and offcource the shutter speed became slow as hell. I think I was lucky to get a result that was usable at all.. Even if it it's a little shabby. What was most interesting is that she was in such a hurry to hide behind the mountain that I only got two pics before she was almost gone. And she was so orange.. I don't think I've ever seen her like that.. I took this at 5 AM..
This is the last time I will see her until autumn. Now the summer is knocking and the darkness is gone. It will be bright and light outside 24/7..
Well I will dream of the dark until it comes back in the autumn..

A keen photographer is struggling with the harsh light and disorientating vapor of a volcanic wonderland.

During my four-day loss of internet service, I decided I had enough images to start another collection, Shooting Sandstone.
From San Francisco to San Diego, I have shot sandstone, cliffs, rocks, formations, caves, whatever.
Going through the images and picking the best was something I have been thinking about for a while now. Thanks to AT&T, I finally had time.
Photo taken at Wadi Rum, Jordan while on my Discover the World tour in November 2019.
Edited for Sliders Sunday using Deep Dream Generator and Snapseed. HSS everyone!

Off the main highway near Versailles, Kentucky, someone decided to use this sign for target practice, seeing how it's riddled full of bullet holes.

Hello World! After what's seems to be a lifetime, have finally moved into new home and got connected - has taken since April which is why I've hardly posted anything for past few months...and started new job as well for more complications.
Anyway, here now in Wiltshire - one of first pictures at new abode was of a meteor - hope this is first of many.....
A moon shot was the theme for the day and I wanted to make it a bit different. There was a netball net in the garden, so two completely different exposures combined for the one image. The moon shot was around 1/250th at f16 with a 70-300mm lens and the netball shot was a 3s exposure lit by a flashlight using a 50mm lens.
I changed the title because some thought it was a basketball.

There are so many events (Fameshed Cosmopolitan, Tres Chic, Beauty, Ebento, etc...) offering gifts at the moment, you'd be crazy not to head over and check out what's on offer. I'm wearing two items from two of the events - the Elven Elder Shooting Star Bodysuit from the Tres Chic event and the arm bands by Adorsy from the Cosmopolitan 9th Anniversary event. Some events will want you join the group first to collect the gift boxes, but they are FREE!
My shoes are the Nimueh Heels with chain from Eudora3D which I won in a Facebook giveaway a couple of months ago (they also come with stockings and the option of no chain) and the Narcisse Lia Bodychain was a weekend sale item from last year.
I went on a hike/bushwhack along Ruckel Creek with some good friends yesterday. We were amazed at just how dry the creek was--almost no water at all, to the point where we hiked down the creek from the lower Ruckel waterfall almost all the way to the road instead of scrambling back up the hill.
It was an eerie, otherworldly experience as we walked down the streambed. It resembled a very bumpy gravel road, dry but slick with dead algae. We followed it under boulders, through tunnels, around drops in the rock where waterfalls would normally flow. It was like walking through the Gorge in an alternate universe, where all the water had boiled out in a few hundred years and all that was left were memories. Creepy, but neat (since it wasn't true).
I found this pool above the loosely-termed Lower Ruckel Falls. I had the urge to climb up above and see what was to be found, and it's a beautiful area. We have some great pictures of Victor and Patrick standing above the opening for the waterfall at the top. Good fun. I love the movement of the leaves in the pool--it looks like shooting stars dropping through the sky.
And if you're a waterfallaholic, check out the t-shirt competition!
