Here's my new Monster High doll, Cleo de Nile from the Frights, Camera, Action! line.

I haven't had a (girl) Monster High before, so everything about her is so new to me! I love her though. I like the MH body and how dramatic-looking it is. Somehow, I find it easier to pose her than my EAH girls. She's so fun to play with! Her head is gorgeous. Very nicely-sculpted with the cheekbones and jaw line. I like her makeup and facial details, too. However her left eye is a bit longer than her right (factory defect thanks to Mattel China, naturally). But I'm not too bothered by it, so I won't be replacing her.

The dress is really nice. I love the print pattern on it. The accessories are magnificent! I love how they have asp and scarab symbols on it. Very, Ancient Egyptian. I like the belt and the bag and they really pull the outfit together. The headband looks like a flapper-inspired headpiece from the 1920s (very nice touch). However her best accessory is her shoes. Wow! Like, wow! Major shoegasm, over here!

The hair is nice, fluffy and luscious. I love the texture and the volume. Though the top of the head isn't rooted very well and there's only a thin layer of hair on the top scalp.

She was nicely packed and she was easy to take off the box. Usually I use scissors and cutters and all sorts of devilry to take off the doll from the box, destroying the box in the process. But with her, it didn't take too much effort, and I can still reuse her box.

But, um, isn't she supposed to be a Mummy? Where are her bandages? She looks quite normal to me. Which is not at all a bad thing for me, though.

Overall, I really love her. Cleo has always been my fave MH character and her dolls always look fab. This one is no exception. She should have been packed with a doll stand though. Luckily I had a spare.

Gynia was stunned that I didn't just love these. I admit I am a little taken aback myself. I do love everything about them, they are stunningly well made, they are beautiful and they are elegant. They are as close as you could get to shoes that you would pay a fortune for on Rodeo Drive. There is nothing gauche about them and they are, of course, no more "sensible" than anything one is likely to wear with that perfect little black Prada frock. And one would look perfectly, effortlessly, blamelessly and inoffensively feminine.

They don't appeal to me because they perfectly appeal to someone else entirely. And now I shall just have to visit to see what they have that might appeal to me, or to someone I wish to spoil.

Between these shoes, and that hud, the maker appeals to my love of perfect everyday elegance.

Here's the thing

I hate to wear black bottoms with white tops. I feel like a cater waiter. But this top with a skirt looks waaaay too twee and preppy ladylike. I haven't worn it since I bought in April and I was getting nervous. So I threw this semi-'50s bad girl costume together. Did I make it work?

Not just boots, a full outfit. :) Sadly, they have invisiprims, but the

boots are MOD, Copy, Notrans and you can rip them out! If you like,

decorate one heel with the pierced heart of your last victim.... well, if

you were someone completely different than my Gynia.

I do love designers that actually believe that when they sell something, it

should belong to the person that bought it.

Baggy bag bag

I was at Disneyland for work (really) and hated it, so the only solution was to go to "The Vault" and buy a new bag.
