The Aurora Borealis casts its spell across the Norwegian shoreline.
Just standing here with the remote shutter release staring up into the night sky was a surreal experience. I certainly set off here in the hope I would see the Northern Lights, but the reality is quite mind-blowing. We went on to see a further 3 displays in the next few days which grew with intensity and vibrance, But nothing compares to seeing them for the first time as I did on this night just North West of Tromso, in the Arctic Circle.
Monochrome image of rugged cliffs on the Pembrokeshire coastline. The active sea nearby contrasts with the calm on the horizon where the hidden sun reflects off the surface to give a pleasing shimmer.
Taken into the sunlight, the light creating a glistening effect on the water and the undulating sand banks. With the seabirds feeding at the water's edge.
When we were young and still in love
We didn't care what we were made of
Our eyes were set on a distant sun
It was shimmering gold....

Sandbar, really, but always populated by White Pelicans, black Cormorants and a number of shore birds, it seems, perhaps Gulls and Terns. Reflections in the pond caused by shooting into the sun. Fiorenza Park, Houston, Texas.
This cottage is a mile away on the opposite side of the lake. As kids we would swim to it (accompanied by an adult in a boat). Lake Scogog, ON Canada

HWW Everyone!
Shimmering waters that sometimes remind me of the color and beauty of emerald, in the other moments they are more clear and must be similar to another gemstone that I don't know. Nature is splendid and produces wonders in uncontable colors, so everything is possible.
