Have a beautiful golden weekend everyone!

Essaouira has long been considered as one of the best anchorages of the Moroccan coast. It is sheltered by the island of Mogador and remains a busy fishing port. The famous blue boats in foreground with the bigger fishing boats behind, offloading their overnight catches.

Snow all Saturday morning so enjoyed a walkabout. . . too many blurry photos because of the blowing snow but caught a titmouse on a fence post sheltered by some walnut trees.

Had to run in for shelter due to sudden summer rain. And while I was waiting for it to pass... ohhh well, here's how it looked like from the inside!

Given the choice I’d be out photographing nature during the best of the weather and at the best times of the day but that isn’t always an option. A good photographer tries to make the best of the conditions and gets that shot no matter what is thrown their way.

I had made my way up the coast looking for some nice vistas and trying to scout out a few locations for visiting during one golden hour or another. I don’t get an opportunity to get out with my camera all that often so every trip needs to result in a least one usable image. So here I was clambering across the rocks looking for an opportunity when the skies open and rain pours down with a vengeance. That was the reason I end up tucked under the overhang of rock which you can’t quite see above my head in this shot and is also the reason for my story today. If you are stuck in the pouring rain waiting for a break to run back to shelter as long as you and your kit are not getting soaked you may as well grab a few shots whilst you are waiting. The long exposure shots smooth out the water and completely misses the fact that it was pouring down with rain. However, what the rain does well though is to create a nice glossy reflective surface everywhere to catch the highlights of what little light there was.

I still cannot resist taking pictures of our Rudbeckia :) Here, I've tried a different composition and used the Rudbeckia flowers in the foreground to frame the one in the background. I hope you like it!

Just adored this diminutive beech going through the autumnal change sheltered between its older cousins. Taken in Barnes's Grove, Buckinghamshire.

Enjoy a restful and sunny weekend :-)

A low cloud sat over the woods yesterday and dragged me from my warm abode, even though it was a bit damp (the woods, not my abode!) It was a very grey affair but still some colour to be found in some sheltered areas. Taken in Hillock Wood, Buckinghamshire.

Could have used this one for Happy Fence Friday but went for Happy Truck Thursday!

Hidden away in an old shed barn - not sure how it could ever be driven out of there.
