A fig is, in fact, not a fruit but a cluster of inverted flowers known as a syncomium.
Figs are part of the mulberry family.
Figs contain a milky sap called latex that can cause major skin irritation.
Fig skin is edible; just twist off the stem and tuck in. If you don’t like the texture of the skin, gently peel it away with your fingers, starting from where you removed the stem.
According to legend, Buddha achieved enlightenment under the bodhi tree, a sacred fig tree.
Figs are very labour intensive to harvest: they bruise very easily and must be picked daily by hand.
Figs contain ficinen, a digestive enzyme that digests proteins and can be used to tenderise meat.
Most commercial figs are grown in Spain, Italy, Turkey, the Middle East, Iran, Greece, Portugal, USA, North Africa and South Africa.

Sea Lion swimming seemingly without a care in the world, making the most elegant turns and rolls in the water.
A Chousingha or Four-horned Antelope (Tetracerus quadricornis) fawn was framed in the cutest of poses for a natural portrait. Everything was spot on here - sharp and handsome, the pose, eyes, erected ears and the sweet backdrop Bokeh, all are a very special to my heart. I must say that I was fortunate to have it laterally in a single optical plane which made me freely shoot wide open at f1.4. What a joy to play with the isolating phenomenal Bokeh for such a beautiful composition. Pics was taken from Debrigarh Wildlife Sanctuary in Odisha, India.
a soft and silky scarf to add that little extra to any outfit.
I have taken about a dozen of images of this photogenic fabric - each one beautiful and unique... a difficult choice to pick one for MM. I ended up adding this one to the Macro Monday pool because of it's magnified detail - i.e. a true macro.

Our beating hearts
Swell our heated veins
Unite two solar systems
On one relentless flame
You and I
In the force of sheer attraction
You and I
And the forces of sheer attraction

Taken at Sheerness on the isle of Sheppey when with Mark (code.dude) we got there at 5.15 the actual sunrise was spectacular!
Sexy. That's the only way to describe shooting behind the sheer curtain of this waterfall into the lush, drippingly green Garden of Eden spread out before her. I spent the good part of a morning here all by myself.
Black-tailed Godwit (Limosa limosa).
Another 6 months before they return.
Tons of godwit flight shots you may have missed in 2nd comment.
