I embarked on a mammoth lunar imaging session on 10th February so I could produce an animation showing the sunrise over some prominent craters. I've already shared the video I created with the data but am now sharing the still images. If you didn't see the animation you can watch it here:

I was imaging from15:45 UT until 22:30 UT and during that time the Moon changed its illumination from 69% to 72%.

 

Taken from Oxfordshire with a William Optics 70mm refractor and ASI120MC camera through a Celestron 3x Barlow. A 2,000 frame video was shot with SharpCap and depending on the quality graph I stacked either 50 or 25% of the frames using Autostakkert! 3. Processing with Lightroom and Fast Stone Image Viewer.

Pons Brooks posing just above my house and tree line on 3.21.2024 in North Carolina. Captured with ASI533MC, Zenithstar 66mm Doublet, StarAdventurer 2i Pro mount, using SharpCap Pro to capture 8 Frames at 32 Seconds each and slight processing with Affinity Pro. Pons-Brooks is a 71 year old periodic comet that has recently moved through Andromeda Constellation and now onto Pisces.

Another Mars, this time with new 1.5x Brandon barlow and ZWO ADC. I shot this one when Mars was getting lower on the horizon because I had refined my C9.25 collimation from an earlier attempt when Mars was near the meridian (and data from that period was not as crisp). This may be my best Mars to date. Still a little fuzzy but improving. Still no obvious ice caps visible. About 120 fps shot with Sharpcap and ASI-294. Same processing of Autostakkert and Registax wavelets.

 

Key learnings from this shot: the ADC really does make a difference in eliminating effects of dispersion; collimation is very critical, and it should be done with Sharpcap or other software with a reticle pattern.
