My sister displays one of the artifacts excavated from a pre-Indus site called Chilgiri, deep inside Baluchistan province, Pakistan. This site is being excavated by locals without any guidance from qualified archaeologists. A local wadera (big landlord) takes most of these prized and rare artifacts and sells them to interested parties. In short, he is openly stealing them. I took away some to show Pakistan Archaeological Department that this site exists; they were blissfully unaware of it till then. Read further here:

Captured on a crisp, freezing winter night in Fort Wayne, Indiana, this high-resolution shot reveals the stunning geological colors and deep impact craters of our closest celestial neighbor. Reaching out to 700mm allowed for incredible clarity, bringing the delicate mineral blues of the maria and the bright ejecta rays of Tycho crater into sharp focus. 🌕📷

American Bittern raises foot while hunting in marsh. For several days I had been hearing this creature, and had never seen it. Ever! So I practiced imitating it's booming call and this morning made use of my imitation. After about 3 minutes of this trial a American Bittern showed up and slowly moseyed along across the marsh in front of me. It's a whole lot of fun to try and imitate their call and then have some evidence that they are responding to you! Since I had not practiced a great deal it is a real surprise as I had no idea it would work. I'm tempted to tell my wild boar story but everybody will think it is just BS.

Don't let it get away

Sky falls, you feel like

It's a beautiful day

"I hear the question upon your lips: What is it to be a colour?

Colour is the touch of the eye, music to the deaf, a word out of the darkness. Because I’ve listened to souls whispering – like the susurrus of the wind – from book to book and object to object for tens or thousands of years, allow me to say that my touch resembles the touch of angels. Part of me, the serious half, calls out to your vision while the mirthful half sours through the air with your glances.

I’m so fortunate to be red! I’m fiery. I’m strong. I know men take notice of me and that I cannot be resisted."

Orhan Pamuk, My Name is Red

Great horned owl in flight with impressionistic mood. The light was almost gone when I found these owls, but this image seems to have some snap and should hold your attention at large size. Hopefully! The shape of the body is very unusual for a bird. It looks somewhat like a women would after tightening up on her girdle good and tight. What the heck is a girdle? My mother used to wear one and it went around the waist with a bunch of straps that you cinch down tight to try and gather in and smooth out the lard. Nowadays they just suck out the yellow fat with a suction device.

Any way these birds must weigh a ton and they look that way when they fly off a branch. They don't head straight out but dip down quite a bit before the wings come into play. Shutter speed wound up at 1/60 sec. with a 400mm lens and the iso at 1000.

Like he’s remembering something he never lived.

HYPER-REALISM / PORTRAITS.

Larger scale correlates the image with advertising or political posters. The traditional technique, the classical museum coloring and disregard the standards of photography casts doubt on the commitment to the canons of popular culture.

Early hyper-realistic painting - a portrait of Sasha Chulikov, photographer of Konstantinovskaya Wool factory, Domodedovo. Painting were displayed at the traveling exhibition of artists of the Moscow region in 1986, and (simultaneously with two other works) at the All-Union youth exhibition in March-April 1987 in the Moscow Central Exhibition hall Manege. It was published in album by Alexander Yakimovich "Young artists of the 80's" (1990).

When I was picking up this canvas from the Moscow Regional Union after road shows (`peredvizhnaya` exhibition) during 1986, full-time art critic from Regional Artist`s Union asked: "Is your personage smiling, as if his mother-in-law died?"

The peloton (from French, meaning little ball or platoon and related to the English word pellet), field, bunch or pack is the main group of riders in a road bicycle race. Riders in a group save energy by riding close (drafting or slipstreaming) near (particularly behind) other riders.

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away."

"There is never a time or place for true love. It happens accidentally, in a heartbeat, in a single flashing, throbbing moment.”

Sarah Dessen, The Truth About Forever

Alstroemeria, commonly called the Peruvian lily or lily of the Incas, is a genus of flowering plants in the family Alstroemeriaceae. They are all native to South America. Almost all of the species are restricted to one of two distinct centers of diversity, one in central Chile, the other in eastern Brazil. Species of Alstroemeria from Chile are winter-growing plants while those of Brazil are summer-growing. The genus was named after the Swedish baron Clas Alströmer (1736 – 1794) by his close friend Carolus Linnaeus.

"Times like this were special. Memory builders. When something extraordinary happened to a person the kind of things remembered forever after it didn't have to be a life-changing event like a graduation or marriage or birth of a child. It more often was the small things. The sheer joy of summer sunlight on a fragrant flower. The giggle of a toddler. The brush of a lover's fingertips. And the person marks the moment with the flashing insight thinking... This is special. I should remember this."
