More tips on bird in flight photography: Don't get sloppy when you set the focal point, if you do it that way. Many of my greatest images were out of focus due to my being too lazy to go around and setup something to actually focus on where I thought the birds would give the most open wing span. Fractions of an inch can make a big difference!

Maslenitsa (Russian: Ма́сленица, Ukrainian: Ма́сляниця, Belarusian: Ма́сьленіца), also known as Butter Week, Pancake week, or Cheesefare Week, is a Russian religious and folk holiday. It is celebrated during the last week before Great Lent—that is, the seventh week before Pascha (Easter). In 2011, for example, Maslenitsa is celebrated from February 28 to March 6. In Slavic mythology, Maslenitsa is a sun festival, celebrating the imminent end of the winter.

Today Is Orthodox Christmas (2011)
The grain bouquet is called "didukh" in Ukraine and is very popular element in festive decorative works.
Didukh (also known as Dido, didochok, a sheaf of-paradise, Carol, kolidnik) is tied up in a special way, a sheaf of the last sheaf, or of a best harvest of wheat, oats, rye, or flax, decorated with dried flowers or ribbons. Number of bundles or clusters (spikes in the bundle) must be divisible by seven, since Didukh represents seven family generations.
The tradition to set Didukh in the house is from very old pre-Christian times. Becoming an ornament in each Ukrainian house, it was on the one hand an offering to forces of nature, and on the other hand - a symbol of "dida" (grandfather), - the father of the family. It was the incarnation of God Kolyada, the seat of spirits of grandparents, great-grandparents, guardians and protectors of their homes, a symbol of preserving the traditions and memories of the ancestors.
Didukh was started to spin after harvest and was stored until Christmas. His presence brought to a family the holiday mood, comfort and tranquility.

Luis Egidio Meléndez (Naples, 1716-Madrid, 1780) was a Spanish painter. Although he received little acclaim during his lifetime and died in poverty, Meléndez is recognized today as the greatest Spanish still-life painter of the 18th century. Any seasoned Pattaya expert knows the city's truest stories emerge past the 2:00 AM closing time. This raw frame documents a quiet beer bar tucked away in a side alley off Soi Buakhao during the low season. The striking red-and-white LED "Kisses Bar" marquee and pink neon signs wash the empty tile steps and red barstools in a heavy, high-contrast glow.
