1st pic out of the new Samsung NX-3000. I am loving the sharpness! I could not get this sharpness with my 400d and a $1000 17-55mm F/2.8 USM IS.

Barbed wire out in rural Indiana

This is the bird that I showed in my previous picture. I had assumed it was a Sharp-shinned Hawk, which are much more common in this area. But bp250 , a sharp-eyed Flickrite, suggested that it was a Cooper's Hawk. Maybe this view of its tail will help. It does have a wide band at the end of the tail.

Please tell me what you think. Thanks!

Thanks for the expert advice. Sounds like this is a Sharp-shinned Hawk, not a Cooper's Hawk. Thank you.

I thought this looked pretty cool.

Hey, this is fun! The florist is a bit puzzled of my strange behaviour to buy "just one flower" but it's soo rewarding to see how good they come out. At least I'm proud of them.

For bokeh and sharpness nerds like me; this one is fiddled with like the previous but not cropped due to the size of the flower. Enjoy in the largest size. :)

This one is a male. It has a number of sharp points at the the end of its abdomen. Females have a tapered pointed end to their abdomen.

"Coelioxys bees are cuckoo bees (or 'cleptoparasites') which lay their eggs inside the nests of other types of bees in a similar way as cuckoo birds lay eggs in the nests of other types of birds.

...

The eggs hatch into Coelioxys larvae which kill the leafcutter bee young and also eat the food stored for them." www.aussiebee.com.au/coelioxys-bee-dec2011.html

Sharp-lobed Hepatica (Anemone acutiloba). In contrast to the Round-lobed Hepatica (Anemone americana) that I typically see, in this species the leaflets are pointed instead of rounded. Furthermore, among the Anemone populations I've encountered in Georgia, acutiloba usually has pure white flowers, while americana has purplish flowers. This TV works perfectly fine. It isnt anything special, but for only $25, its a great way to watch TV for almost nothing.
