This just in, a word of caution to would be hikers in the Paradise Valley section of Mount Rainier. Flying sharks have been reported in the vicinity and are considered to be dangerous as they are drawn to the scent of tourists. If you are in the area you are warned to evacuate the area immediately. Do not try to engage or take photos as that only enrages them and..........AAAHHHHHH!!!!

Blood in the water...I mean sky.

Was wandering around when a blimp advertising Discovery Shark Week appeared overhead. It made me think of the Sharknado movie series. I took cover quickly.

Shot in infrared because that is the camera I had with me.

The Strat Hotel, Casino and SkyPod, formerly the Stratosphere, is a hotel and casino located in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. In 1994, Bob Stupak considered extending the height of the planned tower 556 m, seeking the title of tallest free-standing structure in the world. The FAA opposed the height, and the city ultimately rejected it, while allowing Stupak to go as high as 350 m. The hotel, casino and tower was featured at the beginning of the 2016 film Sharknado: The 4th Awakens.

This is my entry for TBB Bricknado contest featuring the main character, Fin doing some damage to some sharks. This build features 2 firsts for me: my first time building sharks and my first time trying forced perspective.

New York had it coming, what with that logo. Everybody knows Sharknados are attracted to huge serifs and the smell of heart's blood.

On Hogmanay (that's December 31st to non-Scots), which is also my birthday, some chums decided to take me with them to the annual Giant Lanterns show at Edinburgh Zoo.

It's not disimilar to the annual light installations in the Royal Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh, although this one, appropriately, given it is in the zoo, has an animals and nature theme.

It was a freezing evening, but we enjoyed our stroll around the zoo after dark, the colours of the pieces were all the more vibrant against the dark, winter night.

I shot a pile of pics, so a lot more to follow!

No, a 20ft great white shark did not drop from the sky and crash into a terraced house in Oxford nor did Photoshop have anything to do with it........it's actually an art installation!

By the way, if anyone feels inspired to watch the film Sharknado or it's sequels Sharknado 2 and 3.............I wouldn't bother!

Don't hate on my lack of shark skills--I freehanded this with no reference material.

Funny how our furry friends\children have their little behaviors... I don't know why exactly but Roxy loves to go over to wherever JJ is when he is standing on the pool deck next to the water and tread water and slap at the wall where he is standing. Still not sure if she is just showing off or its her way of trying to entice water play with JJ. Roxy is so at home in the water.....

SyFy's latest catastrophe Sharknado was an Internet sensation last week!

Which means it needs to exist in LEGO form.

YOU'RE WELCOME.

Amazingly, this model actually stands up on its own (although its a bit wobbly, being very top-heavy). If I have the time I may add more sharks, improve the lettering, and strengthen it up enough to display at BrickCon.

Whew! That shark took a long while, but it was fun! I originally made this for the Sharknado thing a while ago, but didn't finish in time, and they also don't accept digital creations. Ah well.

we loved those big chip mountains

August is the month that I often work on reroot projects after work. My exercise class is on hiatus so I don’t have to go out again. I watch silly monster movies like Sharknado and work on my project. The light is good too. Maybe I should watch something more uplifting... nah!
