Finally finished my “homework” from the wild ones workshop. i got the butterflies as you can see, unless your blind but i guess you wouldnt really be on flickr if you were BACK TO THE POINT, i got the butterflies and didnt even have any ideas what so ever but then i saw this little box and thats when this photo plopped into my head. This photo also was inspired from joels words about society telling people to grow up and stop imagining like you used too. So this photo really is about realeasing your imagination and becoming yourself and what better way to represent someones imagination than with butterflies ;D
For editing this i tried something totally new for me. every butterfly was layer masked from its original photo cause at least when i edit using the selection tool always makes things look 5000 times more fake (not an exaggeration) i also clone stamped out the legs for the butterflies cuz it made them look all mean like they were coming to eat your face off
Oh, and the workshop was literally one of the best days of my life.That nay sound silly but its a 1000% true. It was really the first time I was with other photographers who could understand the vision that i had formed for a photo and could help me achieve it. It really helped me branch out and put some roots down in flickr/facebook so i can finally start moving away from instagram (whoops). I met some of the coolest people everrrrr like Kate Oliver, Carolyn Hampton, Natalie Hampton, and of course the instructors, Joel, Sarah, and Shane. It does really bum me out that i wont be able to see these people for a whole nother year but you can bet your butts im going to the workshop next year too. I really wish i was like Dumbledore and could just store and relive my memories, but sadly i am no wizard *tears*

This past week I think I've been referred as a mini version of Joel Robsion about 20 times haha, it's an honor to be compared to such an amazing human being such as Joel. He's really one of my favorite people I think I've ever met, he's super nice and humble. His sarcasm is pretty great too haha ;) ill be seeing him soon again I hope, along with Sarah Ann Loreth and Shane Black This was taken at The Wild Ones workshop in Dallas, TX

This photo was taken at The Wild Ones workshop in Dallas, TX this last week!
When we got there Joel, Sarah, and Shane introduced themselves and told us all about how they got to where they are today and how they started.
Then they gave us all 'homework'.
My assignment was 'butterflies'.
I immediately was trying to think of an idea to try and impress them to the best of my abilities.
As I was walking past this tree I knew immediately what I wanted to do.
PS: This took 5 hours to edit o.0
This is my first expansion that I've ever successfully done. I created this image while at The Wild Ones workshop in Tampa yesterday and my "homework" prop was the suitcase.
I also decided to use a square crop because while I was setting up this photo I was having a conversation with Joel Robison about why he uses a lot of square crops in his images.
Here is my photograph for the Magic themed homework. If I was a witch this is how I would drink my tea.

I had the pleasure of hanging out with Sarah Ann Loreth, Shane Black, and Joel Robison at their workshop The Wild Ones in Portland! I'm so thankful to have been able to meet so many wonderful Flickr artists who I've admired for so long.

This was taken at The Wild Ones workshop. I wasn't going to post this but after a week or two deciding what i wanted to do with it I edited and I am ready to show you. Another photograph was photographing a scene like this and as I was watching I decided to take a picture too. Hope you like this.

The past few months i had been so excited, nauseous, sad, and ecstatic about The Wild Ones Workshop, and today I got to go! I was so excited that I got to meet the photography celebrities that I admire so much. I was nauseous that I wasn't going to fit it and that they would laugh at me. I was sad because I knew I would never be as amazing as them and that I shouldn't be so lucky to have them teach me. Then I was ecstatic, my dreams had finally come true and I got to meet such beautiful people.
I have many more photographs that I will share, so keep your eyes peeled[not literally because then your eyes would hurt and you wouldn't be able to look at my other pictures]. After editing this picture about 10 times I am finally satisfied with it. This is Vepra, her name is super cool and she is very nice and pretty. :D

I chose this title from my favorite poem, Kubla Khan, which I can recite in it's entirety from memory. Maybe I should do a series of pictures that depicts every few lines of that poem...
Anyways, I did this photo yesterday at the Wild Ones workshop in Tampa with Joel Robison, Sarah Ann Loreth, and Shane Black. My main goal was just learning how to use photoshop to put light into the lantern, which I think I did moderately well. Now I'm working on editing a companion photo for this, perhaps for a dyptic.
