While I stood and waited for good light, I could not get rid of the thought of how these pines grow on bare rocks, what they eat, what they cling to with their roots. In the meantime, a very beautiful sunset happened, a bright, orange light flooded these ancient stones and we ran like crazy, trying to photograph them from different points. Here's what came out of it.
⭐️Thank you in Advance for your kind ‘Faves’ Visits and Comments they are so very much appreciated. 👍
I cannot always ‘Thank’ everyone individually, for their Visits and ‘Faves’ however, I will always try to respond and thank all those that leave a ‘Comment’. If I do not reply to your 'Comment', it is not because I am ignoring you, it's because I have not seen the 'Comment'.
Your 'Comments' do not always appear in 'Notifications' or Flickr mail, so, I am sorry for any delay in responding. Often your 'Comment' is only spotted 'On the Page' on the day, that I see it. (seen ONLY when replying to someone HAS 'Commented' on the image, and I see a notification)

After temperatures went up and some rain, the ice started to break up. Waves pushed the ice further in toward the beach creating a build up of ice shards in piles near the shoreline.

Wat (temple) sculpture fragments in Ayutthaya, Thailand. Ayutthaya (founded in 1350) was the major Thai capital after the decline of Sukhothai and until the Burmese sacked it in 1767, after which the Thais moved their capital to Bangkok. Considerable renovations when I visited in 1974. 14.3543, 100.5719
The Shard ou « The London Bridge Tower » est situé sur la rive sud de la Tamise et face à la Cité de Londres.
Architecte : Renzo Piano
On the second day in London I stood on Tower Bridge and tried to align the tip of The Shard and the Sun. Well, I was not so lucky, but this one is rather close.
Back home, when looking through my results I liked the strong dynamic power of the river in combination with the rather static power of The Shard.
An early morning view of the Shard taken from Tower Bridge. I liked the light reflections on the water in this one.

Completed in 2012, The Shard was the tallest building in the European Union until the UK’s departure in 2020. At 309.6 meters tall it is still the tallest building in UK. The architectural design resembles a shard of glass, hence its name.
