Opening Friday, 23rd July 6am slt. I've created a small magical space under the warm waters at Mousehole Region, filled with colorful corals, seafaring flowers, and enchanting turtles. There will be a tp at the main landings for both Mousehole and Frogmore Regions Friday morning. Don your favorite fins, tantalizing Mer tail, or captivating Kini and stop by for a swim and make a pic! We will have a Hunt on Sunday - watch for the details to be posted soon !

The photo was taken by the Sony Xperia Z3 smartphone and processed with its photo-editing software. While the processing may look like a lot of work, it actually took less than 5 minutes (thought I'd just share my temporary excitement with the instant gratification of smartphonography, I'll be pulling this one offline shortly).

Sea shanty is a track by the Pogues and is fine as the sea had a great rhythm after the wind had died down, creating this lovely misty feel with a long exposure. The beach at Widemouth Bay in Cornwall has so many great features, and I loved the red seam in these shale layers. It seemed to glow after the sea had washed over it.

Shanty: "Killer's" Dock Storage Room
Group Covers
Very thankful to have my photo chosen as group cover Killer's Production Showcase on October 12/2024. ♥
A charming fishing village on Lake Michigan. The docks are lined with old weathered buildings like the fishing shanty seen here.
Missing summer in the worst way, so thought I'd create a little here on my stream. :) This was taken at sunrise.
EXPLORE #179
A picture of one of the few things that I brought to Brickworld. I apologize for not posting this earlier; a lot of stuff happened afterwards and I only remembered around a week ago. Big thanks to Markus for editing this for me. I probably have two other things that will be posted before the end of August, just depends on when I can make a BL order.
Cheers!

this choir was singing from one of the many ships that were moored in Groningen today. Lovely sight.
In the Wisconsin Central yard at Gladstone, Michigan the cold evening of March 24th, 2001 - An old Soo Line scale shanty with its interior light turned on seemed like it would be a fine subject for a night shot. - Just think how many freight cars may have been weighed on the scale next to this shed over the years. ~~ A Jeff Hampton Photograph ©
Fires are a particular danger for shanty towns not only for the lack of fire fighting stations and the difficulty fire trucks have traversing the absence of formal street grids, but also because of the high density of buildings and flammability of materials used in construction.
I ventured out just before sunset on a cold Sunday afternoon recently to take some photos of the colorful ice fishing shacks on frozen Lake Wausau off of Rib Mountain Drive near Wausau, Wisconsin while capturing the late day light.
I had to watch out for Grumpy Old Men
A cool way to view mine or anyone else's photostream is on fluidr.
This is an image taken last Saturday evening of a disappointing sunset at Langstone Harbour, Hayling Island, Hampshire, UK - still you cannot expect to have perfect weather conditions on every session, photography would be boring!

The structures of this shanty town in the western outskirts of the Kenyan capitol are well seen here. Looking at one corrugated building after another it is easy to understand how this development spread across the hillside. The only restriction from where I took this photo was the outer ring road dual carriageway.
A little bit of online research confirms this location is known as Kibera (translated as forest or jungle). Wiki quotes "Kibera is the largest slum in Nairobi, and the largest urban slum in Africa".
The strange thing I notice here is that although there are signs of life I can't see anyone in the photo. A little further online research confirms that over 1 million people live in this shanty town. That is simply mind boggling.
