I love seeing the Herons after they have had a bath. The feathers are sticking out everywhere for a moment and then with one shake they all sit back in place.
Been looking through some of my older pictures and came across this wee snap taken a few years ago. I'm not sure if it is any good or not but it looks interesting of Asha shaking herself after coming out of the water on Ballywhiskin Beach. Naturally we can't get out and about due to the current situation to take pictures so I might be looking over my older pictures for uploading to flickr. Please Keep Safe...

37425 Concrete Bob leads 37419 Carl Haviland with an RHTT shakedown train 3Z52 14:10 York Works to Scarborough and back into York alongside Bootham Stray on the 29th of September 2022. The seasons start is two days away. Despite it being a strike day, the RHTT season kicked off proper for the 37s with a West Yorkshire circuit on the daytime of Saturday the 1st of October.
We went for a walk where I live, stopping at a stream, to look for tadpoles, when this dog appeared from nowhere, running straight into the freezing cold water for a cool down.
The weather has been unbelievably hot for this time of year in England over the last few days, and i'm sure this dog was enjoying the cold water... I had fun taking some shots of it too.

After a several-month refurbishment, Old Number 3 moves out of the barn under its own power. I thought this was pretty much the end of my day of shooting, BWTM.
They hooked up a bunch of cars to put a load on, then came back where several of us were standing around and asked if anybody wanted to take a ride to Niles. Hell yeah!
But, the best (for me anyway) was yet to come. On the way back to the yard, they announced that they had room in the cab for 5 or 6 people, if anybody was interested. Guess who was fist in line.
I got to ride in the cab of a steam locomotive for the first time in my life. It was hot, smoky, smelly, loud, crowded; and I was having the time of my life.

So what do you do when you're soaking wet but forgot to bring your beach towel along? You shakedown! It's no different than any dog, or most animals from that standpoint. The shake always seems to start from the head and work its way down. Whether birds or bears, it's always fun to watch. #BrownBears
On Easter Bank Holiday Monday, motorcyclists in their hundreds travel to Southend seafront for a friendly get-together, a drink, fish and chips and some rock 'n' roll!

Amtrak's second tribute to American veterans is now roaming the Northeast Corridor during its shakedown period. AMTK 642 is seen here on its first test run shoving three Amfleets and a cab car in to Harrisburg, PA. The Siemens ACS-64 locomotive would head back to Philadelphia and then on to Washington D.C. the same day.

This was a shakedown run for this years RHtt season .
This is Marine Parade, Southend-On-Sea early in the day of the Shakedown. Looks to be well organised this year. Some Facebook video footage from a couple of hours later shows this section of road being packed with people.
The Iowa Pacific Crew was pushing this train pretty hard as it rounded the curve at Spaulding Jct. doing over 70 MPH. This was a test train for the Hoosier State service, which is set to begin July 1st.

Eared Grebe shakes off while fishing in Bodega bay. I stayed on this little one for quite a while, but neither of us was rewarded with a fish.
Our Williams Grove Railroad passenger run is being shoved back to the station while PRR 643 waits in the siding for us to pass. The Vulcan diesel is pulling passenger duty until the crew completes the preps on 643 and it is ready to pull.
I'm running pretty low on ideas/motivation with Lego at the moment so I'm trying to go small and simple. Just a couple figs, a wall and some shadows (thank goodness for my keyframes inspiration folder). I experimented with not building anything for a few days, then a week...but I need the mindfulness that Lego brings.
