This is the Orthodox church in Kaliningrad, Russia. My brother and his (now) wife were married in Kaliningrad on the 18th. This is the first night I arrived getting a quick tour of the town (well at least what was on the way to the first party)...
I'm finding new apps for my IPhone....this one is "Shake it Photo." You take a photo and it loads it to mimic the old SX 70 Poloroid photos that we no longer have the film. I still have my SX 70 in my closet...can't part with it. I loved doing time zero manipulations with it. Playing with the IPhoto app brings back so many memories of how we manipulated film by hand....a time zero manipulation of this would have been grand.
"Oh yeah, I´ll tell you something, I think you'll understand, when I say that something, I wanna hold your hand -
And when I touch you I feel happy, inside, it's such a feeling. That my love, I can't hide"...
We're lookin' to relocate for retirement so we took a little trip to Austin, Texas to check out real estate in the Round Rock, Georgetown areas. It was pretty much strictly business, so I really didn't get much of a chance to shoot.
Ms. Colombia (real name: Oswaldo Gomez) and his poodle Cariño show up all over New York City, showing up at parades, drag shows, and gay bars. People refer to him as "La Paisa" because he is native to Medellin, Colombia, and people from there are called "Paisas".
I saw him during my trip to the city dancing with the Central Park Dance Skaters Association (CPDSA). I had mentioned to my friends how I wanted to start this project and after spotting the dancing man with a rainbow-colored beard, Eric pointed out the obvious – there was no better person to start with.
But when I approached Oswaldo, I chickened out. I asked to take his photo and though he agreed, he wouldn’t stand still. He kept dancing and moving and I didn’t even get his puppy fully in the photo.
I left feeling regretful and embarrassed I didn’t ask him a single question. I only learned later (thanks, Google) who he was.
