I just now uploaded a reworked version of this painting I posted. I redid the bear and did a little more changes to the mountains and added some shading. (12-29-24)

Now the thing I don't like is that I put the bear right in the center. Bad, bad. But I'm done fiddling with this one. It is what it is

A gorgeous bouquet of Calla Lilies, introducing the rich colours of Autumn!

In 1798, a 76-foot whale washed up on the rocky shore of a small cove in Rockport, MA, which has since been known as Whale Cove. On the shore now, besides thousands of rounded, sea-worn rocks known locally as popples, there are scattered driftwood logs and a few fragments of disintegrated lobster traps. Here is a close-up view, in late day, overcast light, of the fragmenting surface of one of those driftwood logs. This is virtually straight out of the camera, just brightened a little.

Thought I'd give it a try. Can't think of a story right now.. maybe I'll add one later.

Photo made on Ruby Beach at Olympic Peninsula. A spectacular scenery. I've got there before the sunset which was amazing. This particular photo was made just when I got to the shore. The low tide and the ever changing light was providing wonderful and interesting shapes and transforming frames of visions. The trail is very light and the logs barrier are not challenging to go through. Loved every second at this bit of our Earth. Foto feita em Ruby Beach na Olympic Peninsula, Washington State, USA. I shot this image of a moss-draped live oak shading a stand of azaleas at Middleton Place plantation near Charleston, South Carolina.

From the 1700s through the mid 1800s Middleton Place served as an important political and economic force in American history. In 1776, the son of one of its founders, Arthur Middleton, signed the Declaration of Independence. For that sin British forces imprisoned him in 1781 and looted the property, which they used as a jumping off point for their siege of Charleston.

In 1860, another Middleton Place legatee, Williams Middleton, signed an altogether different declaration: the South Carolina Ordinance of Secession which helped to jump start America’s bloody Civil War.

The building in the background of this photo is the plantation’s old springhouse, the lower level of which provided food refrigeration for the plantation house. The upper level served as a chapel.

This is an image of the beautifully bright planet Venus, our nearest planetary neighbour. The image was captured during the evening of the 22nd February blazing in the southwestern sky. The planet is residing in Pisces.

The planet was just over 20% illuminated giving this beautiful waning crescent. The phase will continue to wane over the coming days (together with a dwindling opportunity to capture cloud shading!), although its apparent size will increase, as it heads towards solar conjunction.

Some delicate, subtle shaded cloud areas are visible together with the characteristically brighter poles of the planet.

This is a false coloured image obtained by using a UV pass filter to capture some cloud areas within the dense atmosphere of Venus. This filter was used in conjunction with an IR pass filter to give the final image.

Imaged with a Celestron C11 and a ZWO 290MM camera using a Baader U filter and 685nm IR pass filter.

This was on a railroad underpass near Theodore Wirth Park. The lettering is completely unintelligible to me, but the style is spectacular. Look at that shading! Look at those curves! This was a pleasure to re-touch.
