This set of photos shows the 107 volunteers who gave up a Saturday and braved the chilly fall waters to work in Bread and Cheese Creek between Merritt Boulevard and Plainfield Road on 11/6/10. I wish to thank everyone who donated their time to make such an incredible improvement. Anyone can see the huge difference before and after the cleanup.
In total these dedicated volunteers removed 3.5 tons of trash and debris, 2.5 tons of metal, 21 tires, and 14 shopping carts. Some of the more noteworthy debris included thee bicycles, two boogie boards, a washing machine, a pool table, an industrial warehouse fan, a playpen, a seesaw, a bowling ball, a butcher knife, and a badly deteriorated, barely recognizable gun.
This monumental effort would never have been possible without so many incredible volunteers! Thank you, Thank you all!!!

This is one of 4 cards in my upcoming class @ Paper Niche in Plantation, FL. On all of them, I used Crate Paper's Emma's Shop, Lawn Fawn Stamps (Bannerific and Sophie's Sentiments), brads, and May Arts' Rustic Twine ;). All of the cards feature a different handmade flower and a lovely sentiment from one of my fave Lawn Fawn sets :D.
Here is my blog post with the deets:

Tatt i en eldgammel seter i Telemark. Vi gikk inn og fant det meste forlatt slik det var den gangen: utrolig primitivt, med papir som isolasjon, men allikevel ganske trekkfullt. Ovnen er veltet, tydelig preget av tidens tann og står på jordgulv.

This is a set: pendant, earrings and ring. the beautiful bases were bought at Tiny Tiles- Thanks Sally!
The set up of the shoot. strong evening sunlight streaming in from the left and the einstein fired at full power to fill in the harsh shadows caused by the sunlight. The softbox caught a lot of wind and it actually fell over once. Luckily there were lots of bricks lying around to use as weights.
They actually sold me the wrong speedring adaptor for the softbox so I used the umbrella and some cable ties to hold it in place.

I recently revamped my Etsy shop into an online bead store, now called Moontree Mercantile. I’d like to think I’m fairly discerning when it comes to the beads I purchase for my collection. I try to pick things which are reasonably priced but carry a lot of impact, and I’ve been pretty resourceful over the years so I have a lot of interesting things which I can offer for a good deal.
What was really fun and challenging about this was the photography aspect- I drew a series of illustrations to serve as borders and backdrops for my beads, and I think it's a nice way to incorporate the artistic aspect of what I do into the new bead shop.
I'm also offering a free print of my illustration work with ever purchase over $20, so there you go. Check out my website at www.moontreestudios.com for a link to my online shop.
Some of the things I'm offering:
*My own handmade Artisan Paper Beads
*Tumbled vintage "Sea" Glass in interesting colors, patterns, and shapes
* Vintage and unusual Czech pressed Glass
* Fancy iridescent Bohemian Glass Buttons
* Furnace glass beads
* Lampwork glass sets
* Acrylic & vintage lucite beads
And soon: metallic beads, vintage buttons, gemstones, pearls, and other art & craft supplies.
This was taken in NW 23rd between two storefront windows. There was hardly graffiti on the street so this funny little face stuck out to me a lot!

PT today is a gentle climb up the scar. 15Kg. First climb of the year so take my time. Lifted the weights. About 20C so plenty of water approx: 4Ltr + emergency. Nice, busy though. Lots of traffic.
Favourite spot here. Had a chat with a few people on the way down. On the way up I'm usually all business. Trying to get to the top in a certain time.
On the way down I take it a bit slower. It's harder going down. So had a chat with some ex-locals from the city. Parents live over the hill. Talking about the fires. They mentioned a people they know in Flowerdale. They survived, lost their house. Handed over some Moo cards so they can have a look at the Black Saturday set. Told them to look out for the old-bloke going up & down. Doing the summit in 30m.
So I met the bloke down a bit further. Turns out Ed was training for Kokoda. Tomorrow he's going to be in New Guinea climbing. Ed's been trekking through Nepal, South America, US. Told him about hiking through Bowden Spur and how I almost came to a sticky end and remembering the lessons of a similar place I know in Borneo, Lows Gully - a real lesson in the 7P's. (Descent into Chaos: The Doomed Expedition to Low's Gully) I handed him a moo card so he could show me some snaps of the trek.
Then it was time to go home. More to come.

All six Disney Fairies mini dolls have been deboxed. Here Tinker Bell is posed standing, supported by a mini doll stand (not included with the doll). Her front bangs are too long, and cover her right eye, so I attempted to move it out of the way, but not very successfully, as there was lots of hair product in the bangs, making it very stiff and unyielding. The hood of her winter coat is actually large enough to fit over her head and very tall hairdo, without completely squashing her bun, but I didn't picture it here. Her long boots fit snuggly over her feet and lower legs, but are easy to take off and put back on. The glitter from her outfit and wings tended to stick on her rubbery legs, as they did on all the dolls, even before they were removed from the box.
Disney Fairies Doll Set -- 6-Pc.
US Disney Store
Released Sept 17, 2012. Sold out online (as of Dec 21, 2012).
$29.50 US
Six 5.5'' poseable mini dolls of the main characters from the Secret of the Wings, the latest Disney Fairies movie. Their names and primary colors are Rosetta (red), Iridessa (yellow), Tinker Bell (green), Periwinkle (light blue), Fawn (orange) and Silver Mist (blue). They have glittery wings attached to their glittery winter outfits. They have boots or shoes over their angled feet. They can move their heads, arms and legs. Their rubbery legs can bend a limited amount at the knees. The color of their legs is permanent, representing the color of their leggings for all of them except for Periwinkle.
Photographed boxed, during deboxing, and fully deboxed. Finally posed alone and with other comparable dolls.
