Another day, another cookie. But something was different this morning. Sid didn't wake up with his usual ravenous craving for breakfast cookies (which would be followed by lunch, snack, dinner, and night snack cookies). He woke up with pangs of conscience. Was it right what he was doing? Eating cookies, cookies cookies? When he had taken a look at himself in the mirror the other day, he all of a sudden had a DejĆ” Vu. A cookie DejĆ” Vu. Oh dear, he felt panic rising. Was it possible that... he? Sid? Was... a cookie, too?!? He looked at the delicious-looking chocolate chip cookie right in front of him. "Hel...lo?", he asked with a quivering voice. "Can... can you hear me?" A somewhat deafening silence answered him. Next, he heard a familiar grumbling coming from below. And it was more than the usual "Me hungry, where are me cookies?" grumbling. This time, the grumbling in his stomach spoke to him. "Sid, Sid, Sid," it said. "You moron! You aren't a cookie, you are a macaroon. Ma-ca-roon. A fabulous Italian Brutti ma Buoni. Made with nocciole italiane. You are Sid. You are special. Capiche?" Sid sighed. A huge weight was lifted from his mind. "I'm Italian?", he asked in bewilderment. A big smile appeared on his face. "Wow! I must tell Grover, Kermit, and all the others when they come over for my birthday cookie party. I'm so proud!" And with an earsplitting growl of "Coooookkkieeees, Me Eeeeeat!!!!" he dug into his favourite type of cookie, the chocolate chip cookie right in front of him ā and the world's shortest existential crisis ever had dissolved into thin air. Or rather: into crumbles.
Unbeknownst to Sid, however, Brutti ma Buoni (which means "ugly but good") are very much classified as biscuits. Just like the more obvious choice, the quinoa chocolate chip cookie on the small wooden fork. And both are delicious ;) Btw, did you know that the Cookie Monster has a name? Well, he does, and it is Sid. A fact that I learned when I did some research to refresh my Sesame Street knowledge. The Cookie Monster revealed his name as late as 2004, long after my own Sesame Street days, so I'm not surprised I didn't know ;)
Ingredients: an Italian hazelnut macaron, dyed blue with food colour, and adorned with modeling clay eyes, a chocolate chip cookie, a wooden fork (from an instant noodle bowl), a wooden drip mat, black foam sheet as backdrop, soft light from above. This is my test shot, a single photo taken in shadow priority mode. The width of the frame is 6,5 cm / 2,5 inches. It's not the technically most brilliant capture, but I somehow liked it even with all its shortcomings, so I decided to keep it short and simple this time. In fact, doing the write-up took much longer than taking the photo ;)

Das KrĆ¼melmonster in einer Sinnkrise
Was wƤre wenn... das KrĆ¼melmonster selbst ein Keks wƤre? Das wĆ¼rde gewiss im ersten Moment der Selbsterkenntnis eine echte Sinnkrise in ihm auslƶsen (s. englischen Text oben). Wer aber das KrĆ¼melmonster kennt, und ich gehe mal davon aus, dass das die meisten von uns tun, weiĆ auch um seinen unstillbaren Hunger auf alles KrĆ¼melige ;) Vielleicht wĆ¼rde es sogar im ersten Moment darĆ¼ber nachdenken, auf GemĆ¼se umzusteigen ā sobald es dann aber den ersten Keks zu Gesicht bekƤme, wĆ¼rde es keinen Moment zƶgern und sich mit dem wohlbekannten, ohrenbetƤubenden Schrei "Keeeeeekse!!!" darauf stĆ¼rzen. Oder? Ich wĆ¼rde darauf wetten. Im echten Leben war es dann aber natĆ¼rlich ich, die beide im Bild zu sehenden GebƤckstĆ¼cke verspeist hat. Mit Genuss, denn sowohl das KrĆ¼melmonster in Gestalt eines mit Lebensmittelfarbe und Knetaugen (die ich vor dem Verzehr natĆ¼rlich entfernt habe) prƤparierten "Brutti ma Buoni" ("hƤsslich, aber gut" ā und das sind diese italienischen Haselnuss-Makronen) als auch sein bedauernswertes Opfer, ein Quinoa-Kakao-Keks mit SchokostĆ¼ckchen (Ć¼brigens des KrĆ¼melmonsters Lieblingskeks, was die Annahme, es kƶnnte sich zum Vegeatrier wandeln, noch unwahrscheinlicher macht), haben nach "Mehr" geschmeckt. Dabei bin ich eigentlich gar kein SĆ¼Ćschnabel :)

Sorry to be MIA...Horatio has had a really hard time with his procedure. Has just wanted to be held. So...yesterday, that is what I did. He is still not feeling so great this morning. He has a VERY sore ear. He has an infection...but the vet didn't find any foreign matter in it. Just gunk! I hope that he feels better soon. Maybe the mild sedation also has made him very lethargic...just the way it does humans...even though the doc said that wouldn't happen!
Yesterday stayed cloudy and rainy! We are happy to see our sunny days back!

I used exactly 97 parts for this build.
I was walking around in Central Park when I saw Big Bird. What you can't see from this view is that there's a sign on the left side of the box he's holding that says it's 5 dollars to take a picture with him. Right after I took this picture a kid came from behind of Big Bird, and took a selfie when he wasn't looking which I found pretty funny. Lol I've actually seen this Big Bird a few times in Central Park, and I really like the way he incorporates both Elmo & Cookie Monster into the costume.

Ok so FGR today is proverbs..kinda. We have to sound all thinky and stuff. Anyhoo..so I saw these pants yesterday and my strange ol' brain thought 'a Bert in the hand...' tra la la and I got all giddy and excited. And its NOT BURT!!! Its Ernie!!! I'm so DUMB!!!! Anyway..they did do Bert pants but I always thought this one with his rubber duck was more cool so..the thought was there. I've failed you havent I!! O_o
Anyway I'm off at 0530 tomorrow morn and dont think i'llbe uploading much the first week but I'll miss yoooouuuu...I will, oh yes I will, dont tell me otherwise! Hopefully catch up at some point. Have a great weekend! x

This is a toy that my friend gave to me a while back that sits next to my desk. Out of procrastination of studying for History, Math, English, and Spanish, I took this shot with my new extension tube. I used the 7mm length for this one. These two eyes span about an inch. Love my new extension tubes :)
