All hail server! The server has granted our temporal world Mjolnir, heaven (Aether) and hell (Nether). This is the gate way between the temporal and the Nether. This gateway was the first portal created in Mjolnir. Skornt created it to remind us all the importance of the Server in our day-to-day Minecraft multi-player lives.
Server room for our Digital Audio Delivery System. I posted this above my desk as incentive to clean up the rack...which we eventually did when we replaced the myriad of hubs with a Cisco 5500. We run three radio stations from those two black servers.

I finally am building a proper RAID array, complete with hotswap drive cages. It's just Linux software RAID-5, because I really don't care especially much about performance, just about resiliency (I don't actually trust RAID too much these days either, but I figure that it's a nice extra layer of redundancy for backups)
I tried the 5-in-3 (5 1" tall 3.5" drives in 3 5.25" drive bays) version of the AMS SATA backplane, but it wouldn't fit the case without taking a dremel to the case. I decided that it wasn't worth the effort. So I got the 3-in-2 (3 1" tall 3.5" drives in 2 5.25" drive bays) version instead, figuring that whenever I need more drives, I'll just get another 3-in-2 cage.
The added blinkenlichten are great.
These three systems make up a quorum of license servers for about eight different CAD applications as well as Matlab. As long as any two are running... students and researchers can work.
