aliencarpet: I discovered the issues with teasing a server our server host, and how far his cruelty can reach. After bargaining to see something, i stated that I feared he would kill me soon, and he teleported me to an unreachable location with no way out. Following this, he gave me a sign called “Aliencarpet was here”, teased me with enderpearls and ideas of freedom, and the provided me with water. I climbed this, got left hanging, then the water was removed entirely and i was killed :P I was crying with laughter. I love this server, feel free to come join the community. Yes, see those machines stacked insider, under the fairly interesting clothing (wollen jumpers, suits, et al)? Thats the servers of the house. There's also a 16-port 10/100 port switch that isn't used anymore (I've since gone to get 3 8 port fairly consumerish ones) because its just so darned noisy - bad fan. Table in front has books, a bottle of Chivas, and right on top tags from all the conferences I've been to. Fan is important, and on rare occassion the heater below comes up... but having central heating means I never need that.
Now, you might think, "A regular power cable should be enough for anyone. Just plug a strip into the wall and forget about it." Well, that's not something you'd ever hear from a sysadmin, especially one as RTFMingly server-crazy as Dan Slimmon. When he's pulling 15 to 20 amps a circuit, he knows he simply *must* have some of the ankle-thick "current hoses" you see here.
