Newest Altar Server

My one is the one with 1 green and 2 red LEDs, just below the small gap in the middle.

An image capture happened on the lights going out. The LEDs put out quite a bit of light. Near ground is the "internet" rack. Background is server.

This was our old pile of servers. We ran out of space and have since gone to proper servers in a proper datacenter with proper cable management.

This weekend I 'ave been mostly putting up shelves... Good old MDF. This is my new G4 Server cupboard. It's set to automatically come on at night and launch Transmission, and shut down in the morning. The old G4s are much lower powered than the MDD Wind Tunnel, so I don't feel so bad sticking this on overnight. Close the door, bish bash bosh, quiet server that nobody can see.

Back in my system administrator days. You, what are you doing?

Dell Servers at Maidenhead Data Centre

The 50 Dell Poweredge 1950 servers you see here were all built by me and me alone. Ghost helped.

We had a power cut. The only lights were those of the equipment that was plugged in to the UPSs

Geek stuff! 2.4 gHz quad core server w/ 4Gb RAM, 4-750gb SATA drives RAID 5 and 2-80gb drives RAID1 for the OS, dual port server NIC with onboard NIC to handle our 6 VLANS and 650 watt power supply. I can finally retire our three 10+ year old Novell servers and now hum along with 2 terrabytes of storage. Abnd yep, that's a trusty trident 9685 PCI vga adapter.
