Opel Senator (V6 3.0 204 hp) at Lausanne

Opel built the Senator from 1978 until 1986. It was a large saloon designed together with the Monza coupé. It was based on a lengthened platform of the Opel Rekord/Commodore. This is a model from before the 1982 facelift.

My first Senator! I've wanted to see one of these for years, although it's a pity that this one is looking so deglected

Working fast in the Senate chamber. This 3 minute portait was taken using 2 speedlights (Nikon SB-900), the key light is just to camera right and fired through a 60" shoot through umbrella, my assistant hand held the second flash behind and over the Senator's shoulder on camera left for separation. Flashes controlled by a master Nikon SB900 on top of the camera via CLS. Camera Nikon D800, lens Nikon 24-70mm f2.8.

Settings, manual mode 1/160 sec, ƒ/5.6 ISO 2500.

This was the oldest (by birth) legible gravestone I found at the Ridge Spring Cemetery. It appears he was a senator but I can find no other info about his career.

Canon EF 70-200mm F/2.8L IS, 50D

Taken in extremely challenging conditions of low light, Senator constantly moving and not to mention other photographers and security.
