Cactus of Life is a sculptural piece that offers a glimpse inside of oneself. The Mexican traditional Tree of Life and the iconic cactus come together as one. Here all are welcome to see themselves as they are, no prejudice. By doing so, all can share a better version of their self with the world.
The first symbol comes from the Mexican artisan tradition of the “Tree of Life.” Made of clay, this tree is adorned with many figures related to different themes such as the sun and the moon.
The second symbol is a cactus, the desert plant that survives harsh conditions and welcomes all beings who come to find life. Cacti also contain psychedelic properties that help the recipient to see inside themselves.

A small but meaningful part of my personal wellness and introspective journey. The Toque F7, a highly stabilized 7th-generation isolate of Psilocybe cubensis, reminds me to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with a sense of wonder. We do an exercise in our program that involves the young women decorating envelopes and then writing notes of appreciation for everyone in the group. Given a manila envelope and some neato and basic-colored paint pens, this is what I came up with in about 15 minutes.
I wanted to illustrate it to meditate on those things I wish to bring to my life more intentionally.
Been a draining few weeks. Grateful for a lot. This dude - my best friend, who happens to be my youngest brother. Also grateful for good times & good vibes I've been lucky to have been exposed to in the weeks. It was needed more than I want to share.
She is probably reflecting the wonderful moments that she have had during this excursion.

Differs from what swells rejection, to reflect their self on your self-reflection?”
What do you see when you look at yourself in the mirror? Does your self-reflection trigger a stream of negativity or does it ignite a river of positivity? Or perhaps a mix of both? Whatever your case may be, just remember… Your self-thoughts should not be influenced by the thoughts of others. Someone else has no right or authority to calculate your worth & value unless you freely give them permission. You know what Eleanor Roosevelt use to say back in the day… Nobody can make you feel inferior without your consent.

In this short, reflective monologue, Sindy explores the tension between fair processes and unequal outcomes. When systems follow the rules but results feel uneven, fairness becomes harder to define—and harder to feel.

SCRIPT:
We often defend fairness
by pointing to the process.
The rules were clear.
The steps were followed.
Everyone played by the same system.
And sometimes, that’s enough.
But when results feel lopsided,
process alone can sound distant—
even cold.
Because fairness isn’t experienced
in theory.
It’s felt at the end,
where effort meets consequence.
A fair process can still produce
outcomes that feel harsh,
or uneven,
depending on who had room to fail
and who didn’t.
So the question isn’t
whether the rules were fair.
It’s whether fairness
means being treated the same—
or being affected the same
when things don’t go as planned.

This piece was inspired by my feelings of self-reflection. Sometimes, I have to dive deep and reflect on the darker parts of myself. This process will always benefit my healing and growth. I may not have PTSD anymore, but it does not hurt to keep working on things and to keep improving. Stagnation and stubbornness to change removes the opportunity for positivity. To truly find inner peace, you must look within yourself.
