Every chapter of life brings new opportunities for growth and self-discovery. 🌸 Embracing the journey of becoming the best version of myself, one step at a time. 💖✨
In this hard times, most of us for job o phisical location on the planet, are forced to stay away from our loved ones. I believe we all have someone that we are looking forward to hug, and if you don't feel so, I am sure that someone, somewhere, is looking forward to hug you.
Let's use this time to improve self love.
We all suffer with some sort of mental health. It is okay to ask for and receive help. Getting the help you need is the first step to seeing a world in colour.
I opened my eyes
And looked up at the rain,
And it dripped in my head
And flowed into my brain,
And all that I hear as I lie in my bed
Is the slishity-slosh of the rain in my head.
Shel Silverstein
And you're always in my heart
Always on my mind
When it all becomes too much
You're never far behind
And there's no one
That comes close to you
Could ever take your place
'Cause only you can love me this way..

Down Dog app has been helping me continue to enjoy yoga everyday during quarantine. You can modify what kind of class you would like to have according to your personal preferences. I love that you can control the pace, the time you will spend standing or laying down, the sound of voice and music even!
It's free until the end of April, it's really worth trying. Let me know if you tried it! Maybe you have any alternatives I should know about?
Shout out to my favorite yoga mat by Supported Soul!
So, I set the theme today, and as usual my original plans were thwarted by the weather (hello Storm Christoph!) and it's 'orrible out there. So, I turned to my derelict vegetable patch and decided to give this narcissitic Kohl Rabi a moment of glory on the way to the compost heap. I can't decide whether this is in keeping with the theme or not, but I'm not going out there again!

Think about how many kids have their imaginery friend. One who will be there for them, one who will be by their side when they need them. But when we grow up, we somehow decide to trade our imaginery friends for feeling alone, for despair and self-criticism. This may not be the greatest photo in the world, but it‘s actually so much more about the message: Be your own friend. Treat yourself with kindness. Speak to yourself like you would to a friend. And always, always remember: you are not alone in this.
Smiling is linked to happiness and better mental health. You are happier the more you smile and you have a beautiful one. Use it. Smiling helps not only your mental health but others. Happiness is contagious.
Trittico.
Im a hugger. I like to hug. I can imagine that when I can hug my friends again, I'll most likely cry. Im talking about a big fat teary cry. Who would have thought that something could hit our world that would mean we were deprived of the simple act of a hug for so long.
I took this today for a weekly challenge theme with a group I am in, it was "Hands"

So this photo marks halftime into my one year project and, to be honest, I'm not very happy with it - it feels like some work I could have created years ago. But, after already falling behind and trying different things that didn't work out too well either, I decided to let this be it.
Lately, I've had a lot of (maybe long overdue) thought processes going on, reflecting identity and behavior as well as society. What was the last time you tried to get to know yourself better? Maybe it´s one of the few conversations we really need to have in life, being honest with ourselves and trying to see who we really are. It's a painful process, full of past memories connected to hurt and confusion and shame, but I believe this so damn important on our way towards more kindness and self-love.

We would not let someone we love be spoken to the way we speak to ourselves. Leave yourself alone, look in the mirror if you have to when you feel down. Tell yourself “Leave me alone”
My inspiration song for this picture: HAEVN - Fortitude (Upclose)
Don't hold back any longer because there is no reason to hide. . . . The love of the world will carry you. . .
The way of true love will lead you it will not fade nor break away from under your feet . . . . doubt no longer and set yourself free. . . . Something new is waiting for you out there

This series of intimate self-portraits has been a long time coming... it was my sister who was the "pretty one", the "thin one"... I grew up in her shadow... I was her little sister... never able to be mom's "favorite"... These are painful thoughts, years of feeling self-loathing... today I took these photos of myself with love & forgiveness, & thoughts of "I am beautiful"... chubby, but beautiful...
My heritage was my sense of myself as a "fat person"... not quite worthy of beauty & love. Feeling deep pains as I write this... but today is the day I fight back & say "It's OK to be fat"... It's beautiful if you feel beautiful inside, if you are loved deeply by a wonderful man & if you love yourself enough to forgive yourself for being "fat"...
I think these photos of myself are full of love & beauty... that's how I feel about [ME]... today.
SleepyOwl says: Oh, yes, the depth of the music layering really complements the depth of your personal revelatory journeying... You are so generous, Mary, to invite us to witness this transmutation of sorrow and painful memories. The video felt like an exorcism viewed through a kaleidoscope with its richness of shapes and colors, and at other moments there was the simple purity of free-fall flight -- into healing... I played the video a bunch of times -- first with the sound only, then with only the images, then integrated. Then on the fourth viewing I was struck with the message of the universality and the complexity and the power and the joy of human sensuality.
Words of affirmation are important. Reminding ourselves that we are beautiful in more ways than one. Seeing the beauty that comes from within.

This is part of a 6 photo serious about self love. Around Valentine’s Day a lot of people lose themselves in feeling alone. You are not alone, we all feel lost and down at times. Please remember to love yourself.
"Enduring Grace" is a powerful monochrome photograph, expertly captured on a Fujifilm GFX 100, that tells the poignant story of a homeless Colombian woman. The image delves deep into the human aspect, inviting viewers to connect with the emotions, struggles, and resilience of the individual living on the streets.
The skillful use of contrast, shadows, and textures enhances the artistic expression of the photograph, painting a vivid picture of the woman's life and experiences. This thought-provoking composition encourages viewers to reflect on the challenges and humanity of those less fortunate, providing a window into a world often overlooked.
"Enduring Grace" is an impactful tribute to the strength of the human spirit, making it a perfect addition to any gallery that appreciates the power of art to spark conversation and evoke empathy.
Today, as we gather for The Blooming Table: A Circle of Twelve, we come together to nourish not just our bodies, but our spirits. ♀️💛 The table is set with love, and the delights and treats are just the beginning of what’s to come. Each of you is in for a beautiful surprise upon arrival—a special gift and a moment of connection that will linger long after the evening is over.
This is also the final event of our Self Love 2025 series, and as a token of gratitude for your presence and energy, I’m thrilled to offer a free night stay at the Zen Sanctuary. Take time to unwind, reflect, and enjoy the peace of the space after the event ends.
Let the conversations flow, the connections bloom, and the moments of joy unfold as we celebrate growth, kindness, and the beauty of new beginnings together. 🌿✨
Looking forward to seeing you all at the table today! 💫🌸

You have to love yourself first, accept how special you are (imperfections included) and do what makes you happy. Just then you can find someone to love and share your awesomeness, not the other way arround.

~For whats it's worth: It's never too late to be whoever you want to be. I hope you live a life you're proud of, and if you find that you're not, I hope you have the strength to start over~ F.SCOTT FITZGERALD
I had already dreamed up the image I wanted to create today whilst visiting the Cotswold Lavender farm with my family. I'm trying really hard to put the creations of my mind into images and my confidence is growing..Slowly but growing. I guess this couldn't have been possible if I hadn't decided to just start being the person I want to be and YES!! It meant starting over..Starting over in life, Starting over in relationships with friends, family and myself included over the last couple of years. Being true to myself and putting out these images, even though I get scared to show them. I really believe it does not matter where you are in life or what age you are...You can do this..Just dig a little deep and the strength is there. Abi xx
FULL Editorial on my blog
Hello everyone!
I have the honour of introducing you to one of my recent projects in virtual space: “On Self Love”
As we all know, we've had a great influx of teachings related to "self-love", "treat yourself", "mental health",
and other such subjects that imply living life at peace with yourself, being preached to us on social media.
Now, I believe we also might be practicing a bit of that when it comes to our own characters.
We create these perfect-plastic looking creatures that reflect our own standards of beauty.
But where does all this get us to? Does this help us with our own self-love beyond the screen?
By taking these images of my avatar I hoped to find the answers to these questions and to further explore the depth of the connection between real-life and virtual-space. Who knows, perhaps things do not run as deep as I would've hoped or imagined. Perhaps it is just a game at the end of the day, but is it really?
As for the choice of the photography technique, I opted for a very raw un-edited look for the whole plastic effect.
The virtual life in itself is what it is: plastic, dreams, pixels and a lot of scripts. But does this statement still hold true when there is a real human interacting with it behind a screen? Does approaching our own idea of aesthetical perfection and life standards affect us in any way after we've logged out?
Does simulating self-love in virtual space help with your self-love in real-life?
