Early Sunday morning. Just two Chinese tourists utilising their idiot's scepter to take selfies on the roadway.
Note: This is not the effect of some Covid-19 related lockdown. Just an ordinary Sunday morning back in summer 2016.

I like to finding unusual selfie-stick for my gopro. There were road-signs, bamboo tree and fir-tree, roots of trees and karemat, spits and pans. But so much large I've never had. It's really 11 meter high!
We went with my father frying kebabs, at minus 15 degree, and I found a fallen tree, attached to the top my gopro, and then raised. It was amazing view

Popular place in the springtime - the shores of the Østensjø lake in Oslo. Both for people talking a walk around the lake (5km) but of course also for many of the waders living around the lake.
This version was made with my iphone 6+ mounted on a selfie stick - used as an arm extender for a close-up of the slightly irritated Swan. Regard also her small "friends" right behind her.

Black and white re-edit of a shot from June 2019. This is one of my favourite candid shots of 2019 so I hope that you enjoy the black and white version.

Got to crash those selfie stick photos. Got myself a selfie as well in the effort to fill their frame and improve the composition.

Now I have the "Self!" by Fuzzbox earworm in my head. One I'm happy to share. RIP lead singer Jo Dunne who died from cancer in 2012 at the young age of 43. Hope you enjoy this shot from Sauchiehall Street in the city.

Street photography from Glasgow, Scotland, captured in November 2024.
Last year this installation appeared on Argyle Street for the Christmas period. A star-shaped tunnel of lights with a button at the centre that could be pressed for a loud jingling of sleigh bells and a jolly "Ho, Ho, Ho." I imagine that it looked better after dark.
This year there is nothing.
'tis the Season.
Take care everyone.
Made by nature.Used by me;) Almost every tourist turned around, saying that we have great stuff, trying to take pictures or just smiling:)
Actually it is the Angel with the Sponge by Giorgetti, one of the series of Angels with the Instruments of the Passion on the Ponte Sant'Angelo, Rome circa 1660s. If you want a selfie stick, there are a lot of vendors on the bridge. (Dome of Saint Peter's in the lower right)

I finally bought snowshoes... Makes it so much easier to reach compositions! I'm sure crawling through loads of snow does not look very charming, but it's exhausting too.
When reaching this location in the vibrant and soft morning light I had to choose... should I destroy the perfect white blanket directly in front of me and include a person or not? I first took the shot without a person. Then I decided to go for a person too, and even do it myself!
So this is my first selfie in ages (my selfiestick has 3 carbon fiber legs and can go up to 176 cm ;-) ).

Woke up to a huge giggle!
Mark Parisi is one of my favorite cartoonists!
For the Exposition Internationale of 1937, the old Palais du Trocadéro was demolished and replaced by the Palais de Chaillot which now tops the hill. It was designed in classicizing "moderne" style by architects Louis-Hippolyte Boileau, Jacques Carlu and Léon Azéma. Unlike the old palais, the wings are independent buildings and there is no central element to connect them: instead, a wide esplanade leaves an open view from the place du Trocadéro to the Eiffel Tower and beyond.
but enjoy :-)
...and if you like zoom in and have a look at the selfie on the smartphone - it is soo funny...
Seen today at the Zugspitze.
The Zugspitze is Germany's highest mountain at 2962 m / 9,718 ft above sea level.

The Historic Columbia River Highway is an approximately 121 km scenic highway in the U.S. state of Oregon between Troutdale and The Dalles, built through the Columbia River Gorge between 1913 and 1922. As the first planned scenic roadway in the United States, it has been recognized in numerous ways, including a listing on the National Register of Historic Places as a National Historic Landmark, designation as a National Historic Civil Engineering Landmark by the American Society of Civil Engineers, and considered a "destination unto itself" as an All-American Road by the U.S. Secretary of Transportation.
There was something about the way this millenial carried herself, alone, across the bridge, with the selfie stick extended as far as it could go and always focused on her constantly posed face that begged capturing her picture.
I have to say that there is something about New York that makes it easier to be a street photographer.
The force to shave badly.
The force to dress oddly.
The force to pose gaily.
The force to use his light saber as a selfie stick.
Anyway - May the Fourth be with you! ;-)

Candid street photography from Glasgow, Scotland. Three European tourists, judging by their accents, are just about to realise that they are being captured from more than one angle! The selfie-stick, which I call the ego-stick, looks quite ridiculous in my opinion but I guess it does save them from handing their camera phone to a stranger who could run away with it. Enjoy!
