If you’re wondering “Does Hell await me?” all you need to do if look at this mans list. I must admit according to this information I am destine for the everlasting “Lake O’ Fire”. Masturbation and I go way back and I don’t see that friendship coming to an end anytime soon. I may in fact be “Sexually Immoral” as well. I have no idea really since morality is relative, but I’m guessing their opinion in that matter would be immorality. I like how Pagans are on the list of those that will be cast into hell. It is my opinion that if the Pagan religion were the more successful of the modern religions, the world would be a much better place. I guess violence prevails as the most violent religions seem to be the most successful in sticking around.
Day 93/365 "Screaming from the Soapbox"
Have you ever noticed that people who are always on their soapbox telling everyone else what they are doing wrong are usually the ones carrying around the most baggage. They preach and preach and talk behind backs, they are so worried about everyone else they don't pay attention to their own behavior. They are doing exactly what they say they are against but they are to busy screaming to realize it.
I wish I could use a crowbar open the crate, put them in it and ship them off to a deserted island and be done with them.
I've been dealing with someone I went to high school with who inspired this image, yesterday I hit my limit of what I could take and shipped her off (well un-friended them from facebook close enough).
Sister Elizabeth is the wife of the main Christian Warrior Todd who actually goes by the name “Micah”. So far I have not seen Elizabeth preach much but she certainly has her place in the flock. Her main objective is to talk about what a dutifully complying wife she is and how all the on looking sinful women should go home to cook, clean and be obedient to their men. I believe she is also used as the master of ceremonies since she has been introducing all the very honorable men before they get up on the stoop and belt out the word of their Lord. Her speech giving technique is likening to Dana Carvey’s impression of “The Church Lady” from old Saturday Night Live episodes. She always starts out with the phrase “Listen up boys and girls” screeching like a cat in heat, and goes on to expound on why we are going to hell for masturbating and other sexually immoral activities. She almost always ends her sermon with discussion about how she has never masturbated and how wonderful her sex life is with “Micah”. Sometimes I get a chubby when I get too deep into thinking about it.

Intimidation is the word I’d use to describe the born again folks methods for arguing their belief system and saving souls. In this photo the gentleman to the right is telling the gentleman on the left that their method for teaching people about Jesus and bringing them closer to God does not work. He is stating their actions on the streets are actually scaring people away from God and giving them a false idea of what Jesus was all about. Well you know scary Jesus freak on the left would hear nothing of it as he spurted out a bunch of chapters and verses.

As the homosexual condemnations flowed from the mouths of the born again street preachers, many same sex couples walking by would stop and make-out with each other in front of the soapbox sermon. While the couples made-out the street preachers would scream out specific chapters and versus backing their case for why these acts were an abomination unto God. The crowds that had gathered were mostly amused by the absurdity of the preaching and loudly cheered on the gay and lesbian couples that would stop and kiss.
i am so done with the self righteous and morality riddled discourses around me and in media. What the hell does that even mean? Why cant people just focus on improving themselves and being a better human being.

This is literally the first photo I took with my Canon S3 when I got it last summer, hence "IMG_0001" left as the title. I was just making sure the camera worked. IMG_0002 is just a photo of the crap on my desk at that moment. You won't be seeing that one.
Obviously I messed with this -- in this case I was just horsing around in Irfanview, a fantastic freeware photo editor, tweaking the "enhance colors" dialog, and came up with this. Did a levels adjustment in Photoshop, nothing major. The pointillism effect (best seen large) is from the low-light noise on the original, enhanced by Irfanview.

After 1,500 years the Vatican has brought the seven deadly sins up to date by adding seven new ones for the age of globalisation. The list, published yesterday in L’Osservatore Romano, the Vatican newspaper, came as the Pope deplored the “decreasing sense of sin” in today’s “securalised world” and the falling numbers of Roman Catholics going to confession.
Although there is no definitive list of mortal sins, many believers accept the broad seven deadly sins or capital vices laid down in the 6th century by Pope Gregory the Great and popularised in the Middle Ages by Dante in The Inferno: lust, gluttony, avarice, sloth, anger, envy and pride.
Christians are exhorted instead to adhere to the seven holy virtues: chastity, abstinence, temperance, diligence, patience, kindness and humility.
“You offend God not only by stealing, blaspheming or coveting your neighbour’s wife, but also by ruining the environment, carrying out morally debatable scientific experiments, or allowing genetic manipulations which alter DNA or compromise embryos,” he said.
Bishop Girotti said that mortal sins also included taking or dealing in drugs, and social injustice which caused poverty or “the excessive accumulation of wealth by a few”.
He said that two mortal sins which continued to preoccupy the Vatican were abortion, which offended “the dignity and rights of women”, and paedophilia, which had even infected the clergy itself...

It's a fact that self-destruction is a bigger trend among young people than adults. It could be due to the fact that young'uns tend to be more irrational with both their emotions and bevahiour. I dunno, we have an inclination to be more self-centered and self-righteous.

Many of the Art Festival attendees found the street preachers condemning shouts to be quite entertaining. This gentleman walked in front of the street sermon and started doing the white man dance. You know the dance where you swing your hips from side to side, rotate your hands at chest level and let you mouth go agape. One of the preachers quickly announced this man would be meeting with the red hot leader and put a sign in front of him declaring “God Hates Sin”.
They're everywhere, he reckons ; especially on the internet, twitter, facebook, television and even mobile phones. (Thankfully, he didn't include cameras)
Once again the dangerous, evil hydra of religious bigotry raises it's ugly heads to promote it's self aggrandizing, agenda of denial of the civil rights of American citizens. This time it's judge roy moore leading the charge of self-righteous intolerance defended by his unreadable, ancient book of blather, as always..
While photographing the street preachers this pie-eyed gentleman came strolling by screaming something about “get the fuck off my beach” and similar phrases. At one point he yelled at me to “get your bastards out of here”. I explained to him I was my own bastard and had nothing to do with the street preachers being on his beach. As his anger escalated he started pointing and screaming at me, so I just had to go in for the shot.
Why don't YOU instead try some meat, eggs, and cheese, plantheads?

Showing up to save us all at the Art Deco Weekend Art Festival were the “Born Again” folks. They are no stranger to South Beach on Saturdays but this was the first time I had seen them there on a Sunday. I have photographed them a couple times on Miami Beach and once in Miami to counter a rally against Judge Samuel Alito. This character seems to be the ringleader and is the most confrontational making statements like “all you homos and lesbians are going to hell” and going down a list of all the dead rock and rap stars that are now in hell like Elvis, Tupac Shakur, Maralyn Monroe, Biggie Smalls, Jim Morrison and Kurt Cobain just to name a few. Here Pastor “I’m gonna save your soul” declares Ocean Drive the “Highway to Hell”.
I’m not too sure why people try and reason or correct these born again folks. Although this woman had more Bible knowledge then most, Shadrak, Meshak, Abendigo, whatever his name is quickly pulled out a bunch of chapters and verses sending this poor woman to the fiery underworld. It is of my opinion this whole born again thing has nothing to do with God or Jesus and everything to do with “I’m right and you’re wrong”. I also believe them to be highly delusional in their belief of superiority. There were times I thought they may be the genuine article and actually believe all the stuff they were preaching, but after watching them on multiple occasions I have come to the conclusion they really just want you to be wrong and them to be right. There is no soul saving going on here.

I wish I would have captured the whole Bible in the photo but as long as it is somewhat obvious I am happy. This was shot during a particularly long and winded tirade and as he shouted out to the crowd one of those gross creamy spit things grew in the corner of his mouth. At one point people stared heckling him from the crowd about it. Although I was somewhat scared it would shoot off at me as I went in for the close up I just had to get a good shot of it.
I don't think this image needs much of an explanation. As a photographer, I was drawn to the ironic juxtaposition of the banner and the parade participants. So far as I could tell, everyone was ignoring this guy completely.

I met this girl once that talked very little but smiled a lot and loved to dance. The one thing the Krishna’s brought to the table that the born again folks did not was cute girls and gifts of birdseed candy. Although I’m usually not one to enjoy seed as food, this little seed candy was pretty tasty. I am also of the belief that it’s much easier to win someone’s mind if you can please their palate.

There were many walking along South Beach that were pretty pissed off by the unwanted sermon and many of these pissed off people had visited the Bacardi tents once or twice too often. I can’t remember too well what this gentleman’s impromptu drunken sermon was as he stole the stage from the “You’re all going to hell” folks, but I know I heard something about Jerry Garcia and tie-dye shirts. The born again folks retort was that Jerry Garcia is in Hell!

Along came the Krishna’s, transcending upon the Bible beaters leaving them speechless. Although quiet, the leader of the Bible squad repeatedly motioned his Bible to the ground in a very swift downward motion. I am not 100% sure what that was all about, but I am guessing from past quotes out of his mouth it had something to do with them being condemned to hell. The Krishna’s are the happiest shiniest bunch of folks I have ever seen. Watching them dance and sing around the angry Bible waving crew made everyone around smile as well.

I'm not a supporter of McCain but she has got to be called out on using his resources to try and get as much face time as possible before their campaign goes belly up. Her self assured delusions of being able to handle the complex intricacies of running this country is a horrific concept as she doesn't even have any concrete ideas to bolster her presumption. Her transparent attempts at pandering to the "working class" and not the academic/intellectuals of the US is a euphemism that she is counting on swaying those people that just aren't all that smart to trust her to lead the way. By stratifying our population into educated and non-educated and misappropriating the label of "hard-working" to blue-collar-specific workers, she is perpetuating class warfare, a charge that she has herself levied at Obama, in her quest to attain the presidency at any cost. Sarah, Sarah, Sarah...we can see right through you.
Even after Nov 4th, continue to educate yourself and those around you in a proactive way in order to continue the good works that will come from Obama's initiatives so that we can prevent a bleak future of puritanical chicanery.

Although I don't like the People's Republic of China's policy and although I feel nauseated when I see how the PRC trash the name of Communism, there is one thing that pisses me off, it's selfrighteous people, fighting for the PRC's withdrawal from Tibet.
If of course the PRC should withdraw from Tibet, it should not do so immediatly and should ensure that the government of his so-called holiness Dalai Lama never ever gets to rule Tibet in any way.
When it invaded Tibet (because we are indeed talking about an invasion), the PRC ended one of the last absolute theocracies in the world, a regime that endorsed and actively enforced slavery and serfdom so a little minority, a religious elite (monks, priests and lamas) could live off the enslaved people of Tibet. A regime that the Dalai Lama and the other monks would just LOVE to get back.
Be careful what you wish for when you call for the withdrawal of Chinese forces from Tibet.
