Diese einst so stolze Festung, war zu ihrer Blütezeit die größte Burg in ganz Ostbayern. Durch Misswirtschaft ist sie heute nur noch ein Schatten ihrer selbst.
Allerdings wird jetzt Mithilfe von Archäologen und einem gemeinnützigen Verein die Burg nicht nur erhalten, sondern zum Teil wieder aufgebaut.
This once proud fortress, was in its heyday the largest castle in all of Eastern Bavaria. Through mismanagement it is now only a shadow of itself.
However, now the help of archaeologists and a non-profit association will not only get the castle, but partially rebuilt.

I love the harvest time if everyone is busy in the wineyards, and fruit gathering is in full swing.
A soft autumn wind blows the nuts from the trees and flocks of starlings are around.

Ich bin zurückgekehrt in den schönsten, sonnigen Herbst in meiner Gegend. Ich liebe die Erntezeit, wenn die Winzer in den Weinbergen beschäftigt sind und die Obsternte in vollem Gange ist. Selbst ein leichter Herbstwind weht die reifen Nüsse von den Bäumen und Starenschwärme ziehen umher.
Eine fröhliche Jahreszeit.
Es ist besonders schön, durch diesen bunten Herbst zu wandern und hier und da ein Schwätzchen mit den Weinbauern zu halten..

Diesmal nicht in s/w - sind aber alle am gleichen Tag aufgenommen. Ich wollte sie eigentlich nicht einstellen (oder dann in s/w entwickeln ;-)) - aber nach den Protesten "Herbstfotos können doch nicht kitschig aussehen..." シ hmm ... bin ich in mich gegangen. [👀]
Bildet euch aber selbst `ne Meinung.
Auf dem Kamera-Display sahen sie jedenfalls auch toll aus.

Caimans are calm. 90 percent of their lives, they are lazy in the Sun or still waiting to pounce. Crocodiles remain perfectly camouflaged, often spending hours in the water. Only the eyes and nose sticking out.
Caïmans sont calmes. 90 pour cent de leur vie, ils sont paresseux au soleil, ou encore en attente à bondir. Crocodiles restent parfaitement camouflés, souvent passer des heures dans l'eau. Seulement les yeux et le nez qui sort.

On this side road I get to my favorite spots for morning moods. Sometimes the street itself is the subject, as in this picture a month ago.
Auf dieser Nebenstraße gelange ich zu meinen bevorzugten Stellen für Morgenstimmungen. Manchmal ist die Straße selbst das Motiv wie auf diesem Bild vor gut einem Monat.

Unterwegs in meiner
Phantasiewelt mit Bildteilen vom Lauterbrunnental in der Schweiz und dem Rheinfall in Schaffhausen... Euch einen schönen Sommer
Idyllisch gelegenes und gut erhaltenes Schloß im Nettetal bei Mayen/Eifel.
Idyllic and well-preserved castle in the Nette-Valley near Mayen/ Eifel.
Die Herausforderung war, die Gesamtanlage nebst Garten im Vordergrund mittels Stativ zu gestalten, ohne dass die fast 2m dicke Hainbuchen-Hecke links unten ins Bild ragte. Der Garten selbst ist geschlossen.
The challenge was to make the entire system with gardens in the foreground with the tripod, without the almost 2 meter thick hornbeam hedge reaching into the picture on the bottom left . The garden itself is closed.

A place I love so much, especially in Winter.
Formed by sometimes strong west winds, these some hundred years old beech trees brave even strong winters.
I like snowshoeing up to them, they are more easily to reach.
If the sun is shining, I love it to touch their trunks and feel the warmth of the bark, although the branches are covered with snow
and it is very cold....
From my Archives, we are waiting for the 'real' snow to come.

Ein Ort, den ich liebe und besonders im Winter gerne aufsuche.
Geformt vom manchmal strengen Westwind, diese einige hundert Jahre alten Rotbuchen (wir nennen sie Windbuchen) trotzen selbst strengen Wintern.
Gerne wandere ich mit Schneeschuhen zu ihnen hinauf, es ist leichter.
Wenn sie von der Sonne beshienen sind, liebe ich es, ihre Stämme zu berühren und die erstaunliche Wärme ihrer Rinde zu spüren,
obwohl es sehr kalt ist.
Aus meinem Artchiv, wir warten noch auf den 'richtigen'Schnee oben im
Schwarzwald.

The common ivy is a very special plant, which often lives in a close symbiosis with trees. The evergreen and poisonous climbing plant can grow up to 450 years old.
The heart-shaped leaves are the origin of the heart symbol.
Der Gemeine Efeu ist eine ganz besondere Pflanze, die oft in einer engen Symbiose mit Bäumen lebt und wenn der Baum stirbt auch fast immer selbst zu Grunde geht. Dabei kann das immergrüne, giftige Rankgewächs bis zu 450 Jahre alt werden.
Die herzförmigen Blätter sind der Ursprung des Herzsymbols.

Das vom finnischen Architekten Matti Suuronen in den Sechzigerjahren entworfene Futuro-Haus sollte ursprünglich als Skihütte selbst extreme Temperaturschwankungen und sogar Erdbeben standhalten. Heute steht es auf der Wiese vor der Pinakothek der Moderne.
The UFO has landet - The Futuro House, designed by the Finnish architect Matti Suuronen in the 1960s, was originally intended as a ski lodge to withstand even extreme temperature fluctuations and earthquakes. Today it stands on the lawn in front of the Pinakothek der Moderne.

Maybe at such a place one finds peace at the ned of the day.
Eine Abendstimmung auf dem Großen Almersberg im Pfälzer Wald.
Vielleicht ist das ein Ort, wo man am Ende des Tages wieder zu sich selbst findet.

🇬🇧 The Siusi Alp is hard to beat in terms of reputation. Once you find yourself in the middle of this vast, panoramic alpine landscape, its great popularity is self-evident thanks to the many hiking possibilities.the path first passes through alpine meadows where, in spring, a carpet of purple crocuses lines the path. Later, the path leads into a forest. This pleasant hike on mostly level paths is also part of the "Alpine Trail".
Seit Tagen ist diese Feder in den Dornen einer Hecke aufgespießt. Selbst der heftige Wind kann sie aus ihrer Gefangenschaft nicht befreien.

Auch in dieser schweren Zeit, gibt es immer noch Orte an denen man etwas zur Ruhe kommt und durchatmen kann. Ich hoffe ihr alle habt solche Orte.

The Vasco da Gama bridge in Lisbon was standing high on my bucket list. The sunrise here, on this with a length of 17,2 kilometer longest bridge in europe, what really seem not to end at all, was beautiful.
From the city, you don't realise much here. Besides of the wind and the sound of the waves in the river Tejo, you only hear the jogger passing by behind you and from the distance the cars crossing the bridge. It’s a good way for the start of the day.
Die Vasco da Gama Brücke in Lissabon stand ganz oben auf meiner Wunschliste. Der Sonnenaufgang an der mit 17,2 km längsten Brücke Europas, die wahrlich kein Ende zu nehmen scheint, war wirklich schön.
Von der Stadt selbst bekommt man hier wenig mit. Neben dem Wind und dem Gesang der Wellen im Fluß Tejo hört man nur ein paar Jogger, die hinter einem vorbei kommen und von weitem die Autos, die die Brücke überqueren. Das ist eine gute Art in den Tag zu starten.

This photo of a sunrise on mt. kleiner Winterberg in the Elbe Sandstone mountains needs no further words. This magical atmosphere speaks for itself.
That's why I'm using the moment to say goodbye to you. I won't be home for the next three weeks. Since it's not a holiday, I don't know yet if I'll have the opportunity to make photos. If I can make it possible, I will finish the photos on my laptop, which of course severely limits my options. So forgive me if I have to compromise on frequency and quality. It's only three weeks.
Dieses Foto von einem Sonnenaufgang auf dem kleinen Winterberg im Elbsandsteingebirge bedarf keiner weiteren Worte. Diese magische Atmosphäre spricht für sich selbst.
Deshalb nutze ich den Moment um mich bei Euch zu verabschieden. Ich werde die nächsten drei Wochen nicht zu Hause sein. Da es kein Urlaub ist, weiß ich noch nicht, ob ich die Gelegenheit zum Fotografieren haben werde. Sollte ich es möglich machen können, werde ich die Fotos auf meinem Laptop fertig stellen, was dann natürlich meine Möglichkeiten stark limitiert. Also seht es mir nach, wenn ich an der Häufigkeit und der Qualität Abstriche machen muss. Sind ja nur drei Wochen.

My Monday flower greeting today is all about love.
That's why I took a photo of the Bleeding Heart in my garden yesterday.
I love this flower that we only planted three years ago (at my request) and I'm happy every year when it blooms again.
And so I wish you a week full of love. Receive it, send it out, and give it to yourself. Opportunities for all three realms exist anytime, anywhere.
Incidentally, what is special about love is that it increases the more you are giving away.

The hectic week is over and the hectic christmas time is still laying ahead of us. This is the right moment just to stop. For the reflection, we are always wishing each other during the holiday season and for what we empirically will not have much time then.
Why not here and now ? Simply stopping, focusing the view inwards and appreciating ourselves. Breathing deeply, enjoying the silence and refuelling power. So that with what lies ahead of us, there is enough energy to take care of us and our loved ones.
Die hektische Woche ist vorbei und die hektische Weihnachtszeit liegt noch vor uns. Genau der richtige Zeitpunkt um einmal anzuhalten. Für die Besinnung, die wir uns an den Festtagen immer wünschen, und für die dann erfahrungsgemäß nicht viel Zeit bleiben wird.
Warum also nicht jetzt gleich ? Einfach stehen bleiben, den Blick nach innen wenden und sich selbst wahrnehmen, durchatmen, die Stille geniesen und Kraft tanken. Damit bei dem was vor uns liegt genügend Energie vorhanden ist, um für uns und unsere Lieben zu sorgen.

A poppy field in Radebeul on a sunny summer afternoon in June. The sun is already moving towards the sunset and is shining through the blossoms. But it will still take a while until the sunset and so I have to exercise patience. Because thats why I came here in the first place.
Ein Mohnfeld in Radebeul an einem sonnigen Nachmittag im Juni. Die Sonne bewegt sich bereits in Richtung Sonnenuntergang und leuchtet durch die Blüten hindurch. Bis zum Sonnenuntergang selbst wird es allerdings noch eine Weile dauern und ich muss mich noch in Geduld üben. Denn wegen dem bin ich eigentlich hier.

MYANMAR, Burma - rund um den Inle-See, Stupas Takhaung Mwetaw (sehr schön am See gelegen) Tar Khaung. Eine gewaltige Ansammlung von über 200 schöner Stupas, größtenteils renoviert .
Die Anlage liegt sehr abgelegen und man sieht kaum Menschen geschweige Touristen hier.

Ein Stupa (Sanskrit , oder pagoda, birmanisch Paya, ist ein buddhistisches Bauwerk, das Buddha selbst und seine Lehre, den Dharma, symbolisiert. Ein den frühen Stupas ähnlicher kreisförmig aufgeschütteter Grabhügel diente ursprünglich der Bestattung von Herrschern in Indien und ist seit prähistorisch-megalithischer Zeit bekannt. Im frühen Buddhismus wurden in einem Stupa Reliquien des Buddha und später von herausragenden Mönchen aufbewahrt; so wurde er das rituelle Zentrum der Buddha- und Arhatverehrung. Der Stupa wird von Buddhisten rituell im Uhrzeigersinn umkreist .

The complex is very remote and you hardly see people let alone tourists here.

This term is ocupied much to negativ in my opinion. Sure, even in this photo, when I was waiting for the sunrise, everything seems to be a bit gloomy and the bright colours are all missing. Blue notes are influenzing everthing and giving the scenery a special mood. But blues doesn't have to be bad per se and more of this it doesn't have to be something, we need to be fear for. Its telling us to hold and to give more attention more to ourselves. That way it will be much easier to see the streak of light at the horizon what is assuring us, sun will rise again today as well.
Ich finde, dass dieser Begriff eindeutig zu negativ belegt ist. Sicher, auch hier auf diesem Foto, als ich auf den Sonnenaufgang wartete, erscheint alles noch etwas düster und es fehlen die leuchtenden Farben. Die blauen Noten mischen sich in alles ein und verleihen dieser Szene eine besondere Stimmung. Blues muss nicht per se etwas schlechtes sein und vor allem nichts, vor dem wir Angst haben müssen. Er fordert uns auf innezuhalten und uns selbst mehr Aufmerksamkeit zu schenken. Dadurch wird es leichter, den Lichtstreif am Horizont zu finden, der uns die Gewissheit bringt, auch heute wird die Sonne wieder aufgehen.

After I did consecrate myself more to the big range of the landscapes, I want to step a bit closer now. This here is a tiny section of a large corn field. In the middle of a field of barley (more next to the edge, because I cant fly) is standing an unblenching oat plant.
As a photographer I'm often looking for the outsiders. The tree, standing alone in the middle of the field or the flower what is looking so different than the others around it. Maybe it is because I am one by myself. Compared with this here, most of them can be found much more easily. For that photo, luck was responsible in the most part.
Nachdem ich mich in den letzten Tagen mehr der Weite der Landschaften gewidmet habe, möchte ich nun wieder einmal etwas näher treten. Dies ist eine winziger Ausschnitt aus einem großen Getreidefeld. Mitten in einem Meer aus Gerste (eher mehr am Rand davon, ich kann ja nicht fliegen) steht da völlig unerschrocken eine Haferpflanze.
Als Fotograf bin ich häufig auf der Suche nach dem Aussenseiter. Dem Baum, der allein auf dem Feld steht oder der Blüte, die so ganz anders aussieht als alle um ihn herum. Wahrscheinlich, weil ich selbst einer bin. Im Gegensatz zu dem hier sind die meisten deutlich leichter zu finden. Für dieses Bild war größtenteils das Glück verantwortlich.

When a really cold night is followed by a sunny morning, you can see the forest breathing. When the rising sun shines through the haze, a magical effect is created. I don't see this spectacle very often myself and when I manage to be in the right place at the right time, I'm always fascinated.
Then I get completely lost wandering from one island of light to the next, circling them and looking at them from every direction.
Wenn auf eine richtig kalte Nacht ein sonniger Morgen folgt, kann man den Wald atmen sehen. Wenn die aufgehende Sonne durch den Dunstschleier scheint entsteht ein magischer Effekt. Dieses Schauspiel sehe ich selbst nicht allzu oft und wenn es mir gelingt zum richtigen Zeitpunkt am richtigen Ort zu sein, bin ich jedesmal fasziniert.
Dann verliere ich mich völlig darin von einer Lichtinsel zu nächsten zu wandern, sie zu umrunden und aus jeder Richtung zu betrachten.

Das Meersalz von Trapani/Sizilien wird durch natürliche Verdunstung hergestellt. Das Meerwasser wird in flache Becken eingeleitet, wo es verdunstet und das Salz am Boden zurücklässt. Sowohl der Transport des Meerwassers von einem Becken zum anderen als auch das Mahlen des Salzes selbst erfolgten mit Hilfe von Windmühlen, von denen einige heute renoviert sind.

Diese Mittelmeermöwe wurde vor einigen Jahren in Zagreb beringt.
Sie ist nicht ständig in Bremen, aber mindestens ein Mal im Jahr besucht sie uns.
But it's just sand, Baltic Sea sand. The announced snowstorm has spared Berlin, and all that we have at the moment is a strong wind from the east and a light snow dance. When I flipped through my photo back catalogue, I stumbled upon the "Usedom 2013" folder and realised that the images I'd taken during a short trip to the Baltic Sea island Usedom back in 2013 weren't that bad at all... Usedom, a beautiful place with long beaches, impressive high coasts, and famous sea spas, is also humorously referred to as "the Berliners' bathing tub", because the Baltic Sea (and its islands) is only a few hours (by regional train) away from Berlin and has therefore always been a favourite holiday amd excursion destination.
The images were taken with my very first MFT camera, the tiny Pen E-PL3. Back then, I'd been shooting JPG only, and I thought that this nice- but also a little dull-looking image (it had been overcast most of the days we'd spent there) would benefit from some extra sliding :) HSS, everyone, stay safe and warm :)
Weiß wie Schnee
Aber es ist natürlich bloß Sand, Ostseesand, während der für dieses Wochenende angekündigte Schneesturm kurzerhand beschlossen hat, einen Bogen um Berlin zu machen. Beim Durchstöbern meines Fotoarchivs bin ich auf den Ordner "Usedom 2013" gestoßen und habe festgestellt, dass die Fotos von diesem Kurztrip auf die schöne Ostseeinsel vor fast acht Jahren gar nicht so schlecht sind wie gedacht. Usedom wird ja scherzhaft auch als "Berliner Badewanne" bezeichnet, weil die Ostsee inklusive ihrer Inseln selbst mit der lahmen Regionalbahn schnell zu erreichen ist; auch wenn wir uns damals, in der Woche vor Pfingsten, mit diversen Jugendgruppen in den üblichen drei Wagen quasi stapeln durften, denn warum sollte man auch einen zusätzlichen Wagen anhängen, auch wenn mehr Fahrkarten als üblich verkauft werden. DB-Logik...
Aufgenommen mit meiner ersten MFT-Kamera, der winzigen Pen E-PL3, als JPG (damals hatte ich mich an RAW noch nicht herangetraut); gestern habe ich dann bei der Neubearbeitung noch ordentlich in die digitale Filterkiste gegriffen :) Ich wünsche Euch einen schönen Rest-Sonntag und einen guten Wochenstart!

Sie erforscht die Eigenschaften unterschiedlichster Materialien wie Teppich, Steinpapier und Goretex-Folie und verwandelt selbst den Ausstellungsraum in eine Landschaft.
Das Detail auf dem Foto ist ein Teil eines Patchwork-Teppichs aus Steinpapier aus der Serie „To Protect Us From What We Seek“. Die Serie thematisiert, wie die ständige Weiterentwicklung von Hightech-Materialien und Werkzeugen zur Überwindung menschlicher Grenzen mit der Wahrnehmung von Landschaft korreliert.
The artistic work of Lucia Kempkes (*1988) includes drawings, sculptures and video works, but also special techniques such as knotting carpets. She explores the properties of a wide variety of materials such as carpet, stone paper and Goretex film and turns even the exhibition space into a landscape.
The detail in the photo is a part of a stone paper patchwork rug from the To Protect Us From What We Seek series. The series thematises how the constant development of high-tech materials and tools to overcome human limits correlates with the perception of landscape.
