These elements seem to live in conflict with one-another. A green tree, against a firie wall of red surrounded by orange, live together near the canyon floor of Bryce. My final shot of Bryce Canyon, it is a wonderful place for any photographer to create their own special images.

Seems to me, he's seen a lot.

Spring seems so far away at this point--almost like a dream.

Last year's wild cutleaf daisies photographed through an old Soviet Helios 44 58mm f/2 lens, wide open.

Seemed like this shot took forever. The RBNH would get real close often but never exactly where I wanted, and on two occasions he'd hit the spot but I wasn't fast enough...he only gives the briefest of moments to nab him. Finally after 3 weeks a satisfying shot.

Sometimes it seems to be so hard to keep it going when so many people try to get in the middle of a relationship of two. But its just us, no one else. And I am so thankful he never doubt when I need to hear it again: he chose ME. No one else. ME.

This is our RL relationship....made of two people. Just two! 😉

So take your hate somewhere else darling, your gossip and bad vibes wont work here 😘

Seems that I have been held, in some dreaming state

A tourist in the waking world, never quite awake

No kiss, no gentle word could wake me from this slumber

Until I realized that it was you who held me under

Felt it in my fist, in my feet, in the hollows of my eyelids

Shaking through my skull, through my spine and down through my ribs

It seems like only yesterday that my eldest started uni.....driving through bus lanes with the car packed full......I've consoled myself that from various points in the Wirral I can kind of see him over there....well the general direction of where he'll be!

But as this academic year draws to an end and Masters beckons he'd decided on a totally different part of the country .......I'm taking it as new places for me to explore too - obviously bringing his favourite foods in a survival hamper along :)

Fall seems to be the time for ornamental cabbages and kales, displaying beautifully colored leaves, like Spring flowers... they last long thru the winter and actually flower in the Spring... I buy some to have it in front of my door to cheer things up.. this year, so far I bought only one, last year I had a few...

this photos seems to be incrementally accumulating false viewing stats, for reasons known only to flickr. it started getting extra views in, i reckon, early january 2023 and has now got about 1100 more than it would have under normal circumstances (17 02 2023). this might not sound too bad but it's a real distortion of reality and i am very unhappy about it.

"It seems to me that this war is currently the most important conflict taking place in the world.

Perhaps this is the end of the Cold War. Because it calls into question all these basic, fundamental values and norms of world order, world order. It's like a school situation where there's some bully terrorizing the whole school, and everyone else stands by and watches to see if that bully can win against the normal, good students. And the same is happening all over the world.

If Putin is allowed to win, we will see more "Putins" in South America, in Asia, and so on. If, on the other hand, this bully is stopped and punished, then it will become clear that you cannot be a bully, you cannot be this bully, you will rely on the rules. And this is the idea of democracy, peace, international law and world order."

Seems it was late afternoon relax time. Two quite content to preen and chill while the one casually sifted the water, not caring to move from where it stood. They're looking so healthy. Must be plenty of food down there.

Seems ages since we visited the Lake District. This is the lovely wee tree that sits at the water's edge. Despite the rain showers, we had a great day. And our favorite ice cream van was out, Jackpot :)

This effect seemed to be caused by sea spray being force up from small caves under the rocks....there was a lot of smoke in the air from BBQ,s, a South African tradition on the new year.

Sometimes things seem to not look as bad as it is. Dangerous! Slippery when icy. very inviting. Enter at your own risk. Doesn’t look that icy but dare to walk across it you will find out the hard way. I was laying down on the ice to get this pov I wanted with the reflection! Turned out better than expected!

Happy holidays everyone and merry Christmas to all Flickr friends

Seems so long ago now. Taken back in July, the summer, we never really had (well apart from this evening).

There will be no butterfly watching today in the pouring rain. It has been exquisite sitting outside beside them with my camera. There were 6 there yesterday. Seeing one on its own is beautiful but the feeling of a group of them together is unforgettable. The day before one settled on my hand for a few moments. It flew away whilst I was weighing up the possibilities of being able to catch it there by shooting with one hand. I'm convinced butterflies and bees are very intuitive. Bees always seem to pick up my thought to take a photo but stay around when I have no intention of doing so

They seem to do well here and I understand numbers have been rising again in Scotland and Northern Ireland. Seems their numbers may still be dropping in England. Always cheerful, always noisy and used to living around humans.

And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell; but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. It seems impossible to explain with words, so pictures help try to express how it feels to live this experience.

I have become very fascinated by digital pinhole photography. This image was created with a modified pinhole body cap. I think I’m drawn to this type of photography because I feel it relates to my life and it seems to teach me far beyond photography. There are strict limitations that can drastically alter how images are captured and the final outcome of the photos, there is a lack of clarity compared to how I normally capture images with a lens, it’s difficult to predict exactly how the image will look and beauty and meaning can be found in the process and the final photo. It gives me a chance to practice embracing the unfamiliar, change, finding beauty in imperfection and growing in new ways. And the look of the images reminds me of how it feels when the effects of trauma cause me to question reality and myself, feel terror, feel isolated, alone, deep sadness, dissociation, body memories and a range of other indescribably challenging experiences. When my voice is stolen and I cannot speak or find adequate words to describe what I face I am thankful I can relate my experiences to what I see in pinhole photography rather than “keeping it all inside.”

As a way to cope with circumstances beyond my control, survive and work to keep fighting for life I decided to try to take at least one photo (or more) each day. I call this “a photo (or more) a day.” Practicing this form of therapeutic photography helps me work to focus on the present moment, gives me something familiar and enjoyable to focus on as I use photography skills that have become like second-nature to me and being able to view the images I capture helps me recall what I was thinking, feeling and noticing at the moment when I created the photos. More of the photos from this series can be seen on my Instagram account

I may not always have the energy, time or capacity to share photos from this series—especially with the very challenging circumstances my family and I are experiencing—and will do my best to continue taking a photo (or more) a day even if I’m not able to share.

If you would like to support my work and my family, one way you can do so is by ordering my zines:

Many thanks for your support.

Seems I'm flipping between blurred images to in-focus images... It does keep my little mind occupied :))

The spider seems to have woven a new web outside our kitchen window. The double-paned window had been cleaned inside, but not outside. (The blurry dark vertical lines are the balusters supporting the railing around the deck.)

At the moment that I snapped this, the wind was causing the web to dance vigorously. When I looked at the image on the computer, I was surprised that the filaments had as much definition as they do.

Wood Ducks seem to be attracted to Mallards chumming up to them - perhaps as a means of disguising their true identities. The disguise is not working, the red eyes and flashy feather colors is a give away.

Seems like everyone is on the web these days ... tee hee ...

----------------------------- JESUS ✝️ SAVES-------------------------------

SALVATION THROUGH FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST - ALONE!

12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."

❤️❤️ IT'S ALL JESUS AND NONE OF OURSELVES! ❤️❤️

16 I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the SALVATION of everyone WHO BELIEVES: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. 17 For in the gospel a RIGHTEOUSNESS FROM GOD IS REVEALED, a righteousness that is by FAITH FROM FIRST TO LAST, just as it is written: "THE RIGHTEOUS WILL LIVE BY FAITH." (Romans 1:16-17)

16 KNOW that a man is NOT justified by observing the law, but by FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be JUSTIFIED BY FAITH in CHRIST and NOT by observing the law, BECAUSE BY OBSERVING THE LAW NO ONE WILL BE JUSTIFIED. (Galatians 2:16)

1. Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2. BY THIS GOSPEL YOU ARE SAVED, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.

3. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4. that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5. and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve. 6. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. 7. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, 8. and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.

9. For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them--yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me. 11. Whether, then, it was I or they, this is what we preach, and this is what you believed. (1 Corinthians 15:1-11)

7. Therefore Jesus said again, "I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. 8. All who ever came before me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. 9. I am the gate; whoever enters through me WILL BE SAVED. He will come in and go out, and find pasture. 10. The thief comes only to STEAL and KILL and DESTROY; I have come that they may have LIFE, and have it to the FULL. (John 10:7-10)

Jesus came to bring spiritual LIFE to the spiritually dead and set the captives FREE! FREE from RELIGION, ERROR and outright LIES, so WE might serve THE LIVING GOD! In SPIRIT and in TRUTH!

So you'll KNOW, and not think you're to bad for God to love. The Christian LIFE isn't about how good WE are, because NONE of us are! It's about how GOOD JESUS IS! Because JESUS LOVES US, so much he died in our place and took the punishment for all of our sins on himself. The wages of sin is DEATH, and Jesus took the death WE so richly deserved for us and died in our place. The good news is, there's no more punishment for sin left. WE, you and I were all born forgive as a result of the crucifixion of God himself on the cross that took away the sins of the whole world. All we have to do is believe it, and put your Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. That my friends is REAL UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! YOU ARE LOVED. ❤️ ✝️ ❤️

Seems like Utah calls my name every October.

It seems 2020 hasn't been "our year" within this hobby, but at the same time it's led to some almost inexplicable consists, and this is one of them. Here a 3 pack of GE's lead BNSF Train G SIOEAP5 09A out of CP 215 on Main Track 2 of the BNSF Ft. Scott Sub. after waiting for another southbound to come off the Olathe Connection from the Emporia Sub.

This train would have almost definitely been power modded at Argentine on the way west, but it was instead sent south to Tulsa to avoid congestion on the Transcon following a blowover derailment during a storm at Gage, OK the night before. The crew definitely knew they were the talk of the town based on the number of spectators they had on a line that normally attracts very little attention.

Up front is a former CNW C40-8, followed by a cowl C40-8M, and a BC Rail Dash-9 for good measure. I can't think of a more "Canadian" consist and to find one south of Kansas City on the Ex-Frisco was not how I planned the day to go, but I'll take it.

Normally this is the part where I'd complain about the barn trailing in the consist, but after 10 years of being on the roster this was the first standard cab Dash-8 I'd shot from the CN, and not a moment too soon with some of them already beginning to vanish from the system.

Everything after that was a bonus, not to say it wasn't nice to see a "Draper Taper" one more time before those go away as well. From my understanding there are only about a half dozen of those left active at the moment, and from the sound of it this one was pretty much cannibalized to the point it was essentially a B-Unit.

When it was all said and done, this engine was the last standard cab GE locomotive to lead a train through Kansas City on any railroad.

I seem to remember Bart Simpson being asked by Milhouse what super-power he wished he'd been born with. Bart replies "The ability to see through time".

That may not have actually happened, but I do, however, know that in one episode Lisa Simpson, when fed some very spicy food, did say "... I can see through time!".

The references to Frank Herbert's science fiction classic, 'Dune', are clear, and so I'm wondering if I'd had a particularly spicy breakfast on the morning of the BRCC Watercress Line trip, where these shots were taken. It's that idea of being able to see through time that fascinates me so.

"I can see through time!"

As I prepare for this years #Photo24London event it seemed apt that I interupt my Norfolk shots and upload this alternative versions of one of my favourite shots from last years event. Given the less than brilliant weather forecast I suspect this tunnel under Kings Cross might be somewhere I return too this year........

Who seem to be sniffing each other's butts.

You can tell the Field Crescents from the nearly identical and equally variable California Crescent by their antennae: the Californias have an orange tip on the knob at the end, and the Fields antennae end in black knobs.

Went to pick up the eggs yesterday, looks like 5 chooks are all laying in the one box!

seems crazy that even eye coloring can be different between the males and females of a species

As seems to happen over and over, I quite literally stumbled upon this scene the other evening. I was working a local car show that was nearing its conclusion. The setting sun was providing magnificent shadows and backlighting. As the sun was on the verge of disappearing behind the roof of the background building, I happened upon this gentleman standing in the bed of a monster pickup truck as he was furling his flags. I asked him to hold the flag aloft and wave it around. Shooting directly into the sun I really couldn't see much, I just locked in the focus and exposure and let the shutter go on continuous mode for several frames. I thanked him and moved on, unaware of what I had captured until the following day. This was the takeaway image. The gesture and flag position, the rays overhead and the sun glowing like an orb. Doubt I could have posed this any better had I planned for it.
