Love in Slow Motion - Ed Sheeran
It's been a while since we've been alone
To turn off the world and the telephone
I need to tell you you're beautiful
'Cause it's been a while and I apologize
I just get caught up in the rat race I'm runnin'
Chasin' a moment, I'm hoping is comin'
If I stopped and took a look around
It's in front of my eyes, eyes
Baby, let's slow down time
Maybe just press rewind
Darling, that dress reminds
Me of the first time
And I wanna love tonight
One on one by the candlelight
Over and over, we spend our lives
Living fast forward, but not tonight
Love in slow motion
It's been a while since it was you and me
Too many friends, too many evening drinks
Yeah, we commit to so many things
But not to ourselves, and I apologize
Sometimes you're sad, and you tell me it's nothin'
And I brush it off because there's always somethin'
But I need to change my perspective
And prioritize-ize
'Cause one thing I know, it's this
Every moment missed
Can be restored with your lips
It only takes one kiss
And I wanna love tonight
One on one by the candlelight
Over and over, we spend our lives
Living fast forward, but not tonight
Love in slow motion
Ooh-ooh
Ooh-ooh
Love tonight
One on one by the candlelight
Over and over, we spend our lives
Living fast forward, but not tonight
Love in slow motion
Wanna love tonight
One on one by the candlelight
Over and over, we spend our lives
Living fast forward, but not tonight
Love in slow motion
In slow motion
In slow motion
Arrivederci.
Sunset was at 6:09 P.M.
Epic time to be on top of the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
Magic.
I will return on Sunday to the city, the baptistery and the museum. Today is Friday. Return to Florence.
(Ibn Hazm - 1022)
Yesterday I looked longingly at the geese flying in the sky, they were on their way south. September was record warm and rainy and now that October has arrived, the cold has also arrived. My mind is conflicted, on the one hand I miss the light and colors of summer, on the other hand the darkening days bring the desire to wrap myself in a blanket to read a book or watch movies. It's so homely and comfortable. There will be cold days, colorful leaves that will gradually fall away and the landscape will fade. There will be ice, frost and first snow. The natural cycle of my world.
ICM, singel exposure.

Okie dokey, dear friends, this is it! My last proper upload until we return from Japan the first week of May. The bags are almost packed, the iPod is fully charged and in a few hours we'll be driven to the airport.
The laptop and the mobile are staying home. Other than a few cameras (okay, about seven) this is an experience I want to enjoy with all my senses and no distractions. I might moblog a bit using my Sidekick3 until our United Airlines flight departs SEA-TAC later today but that's about it. Suntory Time begins!
A big thanks go to all of you who helped me plan and prepare for this trip. Heartfelt thanks go to Kami at Sweet & Savory, my wonderfully thoughtful friends in Connecticut who sent me Japanese language instruction books, gifts of photography, encouragement and all sorts of helpful tips to make this a successful holiday experience.
To my dear new friend Chiaki who has been an amazing resource for all things Japan: thank you Chiaki for your time, your generosity of knowledge and conversation. Thank you also for changing my $ for ¥ so I could have some local currency until our car service drops us off in Shinjuku. Like my very own branch of Mizuho Bank right here in my building! Ha ha! ;-D
And thanks to my dear neighbors and close friends Suhara and Kristina for cat sitting Gato at home until we return from Japan. I could not do it without you and he couldn't be in better hands and hearts than yours. I love you both!
To my family and sister I'll miss our daily conversations. Mom and Giselle, I can't wait to see you in June! I'm super excited that you guys are coming to Seattle!
So until we see each other again, do take care.
XOXO,
V
PS:To my Japanese Flickr buddies: If you wish to get together, do let me know by email. I'll try to check it from the hotel. Perhaps we can get together for some tea/coffee, cake and Polas. Say April 30th in the afternoon at my hotel (Park Hyatt)? :)
Hi all,
This will be my last post before I take a two month hiatus. RL work travel in July is gonna be a little mad, so I'm taking a break from blogging, and I'm gonna be away for August for summer vacation.
I'll still be on Flickr checking out all your fabulous works in the meantime, so, I'm not gone! :) just maybe a little slow, so I apologise in advance.
See you all in September when I get settled back again. So gonna miss doing photos, but I'll promise to be back :)

« Lessons from Geese» …. Saatchi & Saatchi… for all of you my dear Flickr friends!!! :)))
www.youtube.com/watch?v=9cdyej0AJaI
To show the importance of teamwork, we can take examples from the lives of geese.
Fact: As each goose flaps its wings, it creates an uplift for the birds that follow. By flying in a "V" formation, the whole flock gains 71% greater flying range than if each bird flew alone.
Lesson: People who share a common direction and sense of community can get where they are going quicker and easier because they are traveling on the thrust of one another.
Fact: When a goose falls out of formation, it suddenly feels the drag and resistance of flying alone. It quickly moves back into formation to take advantage of the lifting power of the bird immediately in front of it.
Lesson: If we have as much sense as a goose we stay in formation with those headed where we want to go. We are willing to accept their help and give our help to others.
Fact: When the lead goose tires, it rotates back into the formation and another goose flies to the point position.
Lesson: It pays to take turns doing the hard tasks and sharing leadership. As with geese, people are interdependent on each other's skill, capabilities, and unique arrangements of gifts, talents, and resources.
Fact: The geese flying in formation honk to encourage those up in front to keep up their speed.
Lesson: We need to make sure that our honking is encouraging. In groups where there is encouragement, the production is much greater. The power of encouragement (to stand by one's core values, and to encourage the core values of others) is the quality of honking we seek.
Fact: When a goose gets sick, wounded or shot, two geese drop out of formation and follow it down to help and protect it. They stay with it until it dies or is able to fly again. Then, they launch out with another formation or catch up with the flock.
Lesson: If we have as much sense as geese, we will stand by each other in difficult times as well as when we are strong.
