For Our Daily Challenge topic - 'Milestone.' Starting in 1999 I spent 13 years in Southeast Asia and China. When I left I had one empty page left in my second passport. All the other pages crammed full of visas and border crossings. Every border crossing is an actual and metaphoric milestone. I am grateful for every one of them. The ones that greeted me with smiles and also those that unsmilingly kept their hands on guns. Every challenge and kindness, thank you.
Visto emitido pelo Consulado em São Paulo-SP. Hoje em dia, ainda razoavelmente burocrática, mas de forma mais eficiente do que anos atrás... Interessante que o passaporte vence antes do visto. Quando acontece, deve-se viajar com 2 passaportes: um vencido com o visto válido e o outro passaporte, válido.
Visa issued by the Consulate in Sao Paulo-SP, Brazil. Nowdays still reasonably bureaucratic, but more efficiently than years ago.. Interesting that the passport expires before the visa. When it happens, one must travel with 2 passport: one expired with the valid visa, and the second passport, valid.

Yes, the date is wrong. Dunno why. After the tourism office directed me to immigration, I stammered a warp-10 explanation which culminated with, "Oh, you want a souvenir stamp?" The nice officer tested it on a sheet of paper before handing me the stamp. Jenn left her passport on board, otherwise this would have been her first stamp and not the Octoober 2007 Bahamas one.

Bahamas, arriving in Freeport 04 Dec 2004 (departed 06 Dec 2004, not stamped.) The first stamp in my second passport - I believe the handwriting says "four days," but I could be wrong. One of those, flip to a random page (page 12) and stamp.
This incidentally, was my second cruise, via Discovery Sun, a 20K ship running as a daily ferry between Ft. Lauderdale and Grand Bahama Island.
Funny story: because of terrorism fears, I had placed a United Kingdon cover on my passport, on the theory that I could get away with telling a potential hijacker that I was a Pakastani Brit and also on the belief that they would shoot Americans first, Britons second (this obviously went away after the London attacks.) Anyway, Ft. Lauderdale cruiseport workers take a look at the cover and without checking the inside tells me, no, British citizens stand in a different line. Well, obviously the ruse worked for her....
Philippines, arriving in Manila 01 August 2005, departing 07 August 2005. This is the way it should be done - entry and exit stamps next to each other (and a US entry stamp at JFK, dated 07 August 2005 is below the duo, not shown.) The handwriting is the Korean Air Line flight number. From my second passport.
There was a fuel stop in Seoul, South Korea both ways - I didn't get a stamp from that.

My daughter was playing "airplane" and had me help her ticket all of the passengers and get them seated (Each passenger is holding a ticket). I had to talk her out of giving each one a book to use as a passport. I guess that's what happens to 5-year-old expat kid who's already on her second passport. She knows flying quite well.
