Ostara, also known as Eostre, is the Anglo-Saxon goddess of dawn, spring, rebirth, and renewal. She is celebrated during the spring equinox, which is also known as Ostara.
Ostara represents fertility, new beginnings, and the awakening of nature after winter. Her colors are yellow, green and purple and her totem animals are hares, birds and lambs.
One story recounts how Eostre found a bird with frozen wings and saved it by transforming it into a hare, which retained the ability to lay eggs. The transformed hare was so grateful to be alive its eggs appeared in bright colors and patterns. In honor of the Goddess, people continue to color eggs in the spring.
May the blessings of Eostre bring you a beautiful and abundant Spring!
