I spent so long out on the town at the fantastic events today, that I didn’t realise I had forgotten to bring my keys! Time to take some photos whilst I wait to be let in. I have been looking for an excuse to show off my fabulous new head from Akeruka – the [AK] Delux Nadia head is absolutely to die for – I’m featuring it here with my own shape. My hair is from Tameless @ the February Designer Showcase, my pants and blouse are from Elegance Boutique on special offer for the Hello Tuesday event. I wish my neighbours would hurry up and let me in! Oh well, at least I look cute.

I have more than ten years in SL. I started in 2007, and from 2007 to 2010 the change was already very significant.
At this time we were enchanted by the new layers that allowed us to use makeup and no longer depend on having multiple skins with various makeups.
The hair already had better textures, more detailed shoes and more elaborate clothes.
A few years later if not mistaken in 2011 came the MESH, and with it the first hands and feet, and how charming it was to have beautiful hands and be able to change the nail polish, without needing layers for it.
The mesh bodies came, and we stopped using the famous "alphas" in clothes that "hid and mended"
The photos got better, SL became richer in textures and details,
In 2015 if memory serves me, the mesh heads started, and then we were close to perfection. Over the years, more realistic facial animations, rich textures of detail, all amazingly evolving to make colors more enchanting.
We arrived in 2019, and now we have BoM (Bakes on Mesh), which allows us to merge past and present, making a future.
In these hours I realize that the enchantment never ends.
And I realize that style is something that we carry with us. I can see in both photos, the taste for the same angles, elegantly tied hair, my passion for party dresses, makeup, the same blue-green eyes (I think the only thing I keep from RL in SL) and something that makes me makes you very happy: friendships.
Here in both photos I wear Kunglers jewelry from my dear friends Ava and Barb. This was one of the first photos, where I started working as a blogger, as a co-blogger on my friend Lucyanni Writer's blog.
Within a decade, I realized when I was constant but evolutionary.
I feel happy with this challenge. I was invaded by a good feeling.
Let another ten years come, and we can move and integrate with the avatar, that we can have more movements in the clothes and knits, more reality and more lightness as well.

Tenho mais que dez anos no SL. Comecei em 2007, e de 2007 para 2010 a mudança já foi muito significativa.
Nesta época nos encantávamos com as novas camadas que nos permitiam usar maquiagens e não mais depender de ter várias skins com várias maquiagens.
Os cabelos já apresentavam melhores texturas, os sapatos mais detalhes e as roupas mais elaboradas.
Alguns anos depois senão me engano em 2011 chegou o MESH, e com ele as primeiras mãos e pés, e como era encantador ter maozinhas lindas e poder trocar o esmalte, sem precisar de camadas para isso.
Vieram os corpos em mesh, as roupas, e fomos deixando de usar os famosos "alphas" que "escondiam e remendavam"
As fotos foram melhorando, o SL se tornava mais rico em texturas e detalhes,
Em 2015 se não me falha a memória começaram as cabeças em mesh, e então beirávamos a perfeição. Com o passar dos anos, animações faciais mais reais, texturas ricas de detalhes, tudo incrivelmente evoluindo a tornar as cores mais encantadoras.
Chegamos em 2019, e temos agora o BoM (Bakes on Mesh), que nos permite a fusão do passado e do presente, fazendo um futuro.
Nestas horas percebo que o encantamento nunca acaba.
E percebo que estilo é algo que carregamos conosco. Percebo em ambas as fotos, o gosto pelos mesmos angulos, cabelos presos de maneira elegante, minha paixão por vestidos de festa, maquiagens, os mesmos olhos azuis-esverdeados (acho que a única coisa que mantenho de RL no SL) e algo que me deixa muito feliz: as amizades.
Aqui em ambas as fotos eu usando jóias da Kunglers, de minhas queridas amigas Ava e Barb. Esta foi uma das primeiras fotos, aonde comecei a trabalhar como blogger, de co-blogger no blog de minha amiga Lucyanni Writer.
Em uma década, percebi o quando fui constante mas evolutiva.
Me sinto feliz com este desafio. Fui invadida por uma sensação boa.
Que venham mais dez anos, e possamos nos mover e integragir com o avatar, que possamos ter mais movimentos nas roupas e malhas, mais realidade e mais leveza também.

It is me in 2010 and me in 2019.
There is no major deformation, but the skin was slightly sunburned and rounded.
That is the difference between Classic Avatar and Mesh Avatar.
This young man became a middle-aged man.lol
And I did not produce Avatar aiming for this image, it is like this all the time.

I saw the currently challenge from Strawberry Singh and couldn't resist.
Now... i could have cheated and used a more decent pic but... why. Why i should do that if i still have MY FIRST SL SCREENSHOTS? I mean, i'm talking about first day stuff here. A few days later/a week at best, in this case. Here i was clearly camping at G0thic0's camp chair. I basically lived there, i had all their camping prizes lol.
Also, notice at the little smirk, the FLAT AF corpse-like skin, that terrible tattoo. I FELT SO GOOD LOOKING, you can't even imagine. The Freebie Dungeon was clearly a paradise to me.
A few things not depicted here still remained during these years:
- The curvy shape, even tho i also suffered a period where i was tall af with big square-ish boobies. Thank lord i learned anatomy for good while i was out of SL from 2009 to 2014. The first thing i did when i logged in for the first time in years was to scream at my avatar.
- The shapeshifting. One of the first thing i did was to look for some freebie neko ears and tails, but after a few months i switched to an elf/fae appearance (among other avatars as well, from gynoid to mermaid, a lamia, a furry bunny, and so on) that i still keep to this day. The ears are even the same. Yes, those are sculpted ears. No one does mesh elf ears with only spiked piercings (i'm not a jewerly girl) so the Abyssal Ears from Illusions (how i miss thee!) are still glued to my mesh skull.
- The purple eyes and the white hair. Sometimes i switch to two tones hair, and on rare occasions i jump into black hair or purple hair).
- The tattooes, because i'm scared of needles IRL so Abby has always been heavily tattooed.
- Chockers and goth-like fashion, following my RL tastes, and in general love for anything weird even in fashion. From this point of view, i miss 2007 a lot. But it has to be said, my skin started to look a bit more alive and less dead. And i learned how to edit prims.
That's how we noobed back in the days o/

Hey guys!
I just realized that I had turned 4 years old in-game a few days ago :O
And what better way to commemorate than to buy yourself a pair of bento rings to take part in Then and Now #SecondLifeChallenge.
Although I joined SL for good in 2015 (old bad habits die hard), my first account was created sometime around 2012 or so I believe but I never got to understand how this darn thing worked back then.
Yes, I know, mesh was a thing in 2015 but I was broke (not that I'm not anymore) so I kept hogging on groups for free gifts which were most of the time prims and system layers.
Anyways, looking back to the old times I never got to realize what a huge impact SL would have on my RL.
Because of SL i discovered that there were other ways to create and enjoy making visual content other than drawing and video editing so I actually got very interested in advertising and graphic design in general. Fast Forward to now, I just finished my graphic design courses and I'm working on my graduation project.
All these wouldn't have been possible without me engaging with the creators of SL and for that you all have my thanks.
Let's keep pushing, let's keep working and let's continue experiencing the digital fantasy together.
