If the clouds cooperate you can sometimes get a second sunrise, or more accurately, a second sunburst in a different location. Here there was an open band of sky in the east, below the cloud cover. The first sunrise sunburst was taken as the sun started rising above the horizon. Once the sun was fully uncovered, I moved to (scrambled to find) a second location and caught a second sunburst as the sun started to slide behind the clouds.

Had a fun time cruzing around the Olympics with Aaron and Lisa last Thrusday. We didn't come arcoss the most ideal situations for epic clouds, but it still was fun. Just getting out and shooting with some good peps makes it all worth while.

3 SD30C-ECOs haul J15 up Shortline Hill near Chestnut Street in Saint Paul. They made two trips up the hill on this morning, this was the second run. Lots of small puffy clouds this morning and as you can see on the right I nearly got nailed, fortunately the power mostly in sun.

Some of us have personal goals that we set for ourselves, long ago, I had descided that this was it, and now that I'm here... I'm not really sure what to do with myself.
A few things are coming to mind: Continue blogging for a few of my long-term sponsors and events, possibly get back into creating some new BOM stuff, or straight out retire.
Maybe it's a ten year itch, a Mid-(second)Life-Crisis... who knows, it will likely pass... just know that I have no more expectations of myself or anyone else, it's super empowering.
This is the same photo that I posted recently, this time, edited by my friend, Don Briggs, who was attempting to help me get some noise out of the sky, while bringing up the detail. I think it came out much better! The detail in the clouds is captivating, but it's much less blurry than with the HDR filter I had used to process it. Thanks, Don!

Walking home from Piccadilly and rounding the corner of Knightsbridge onto Sloane Street, is Harvey Nics, and they have a sort of rain (you can see the glass drops) lightning (the chain links and neon) dramatic weather window display...and as I hit that corner it happened to be pouring down.... Second sight, given the reflection....and the diagonals really help the frame I think....
