Captured during one of my street photography workshops. Just three years later and it is probably not a good time to be selling homes as prices have tumbled lately on the back of rising interest rates and souring inflation. Perhaps I should have viewed my new home in the winter time and then I might have discovered how icy cold it is and almost impossible to keep warm. Just keeping one room at 18 degrees during the day and 14 degrees at night is costing over £10* a day! It's unsustainable. Of course, after moving in and having a flood in the kitchen from a leak that was going on from before I bought the house, has swallowed up any budget for improving the cold situation this year. Excuse me while I go and wrap myself around my coffee mug and hope for a thaw this weekend.

*that's with 250mm loft insulation, presumed cavity wall insulation, double glazing, energy saving bulbs and very conservative energy use. Of course energy prices being double that of last year don't help!

The first day of Spring - cycles of nature repeat themselves. Two years ago, we welcomed Spring with snowfall as well.

From California, USA. As usual I look forward to the little nandina bush outside of my door telling me that the holidays are coming.
However this year, the berries are late. I'm not surprised as our vegetation is beyond dry. We have only received less than an inch of rain during this, our rainy season. The plants are watered by an small irrigation system, but nothing can replace a good old fashion rain shower.
This is an image I took last year when the rains came.
Nothing stays the same as life moves. Days, seasons and times of consciousness evolve. All we can do is look to the next change, focus and embrace all it brings.
